Yeah, the timing was awful. I was just trying to understand why she’d say that and I don’t think anyone in my city goes to “be a peach” as the first term of endearing. Then I thought maybe she’s from the South and they do it there? I clearly don’t know enough about the South.

I saw this a lot growing up in high school. I went to an all-girls school but the neighboring boys school was mostly Black, Latino and Asian and the word was always tossed around among friends of all ethnicities. Because of this upbringing, I never found it offensive until I got older. Some black friends are NOT okay…
