My parents gave me the “What’s Happening to My Body Book For Girls” as a young’un, that was a good and solid puberty book (though I’m not sure how it holds up re. LGBT issues and the like, I genuinely don’t remember what it said).

I grew up in PA, our house was window -> dryer->washer->basement sink. The vent vs. water hookup theory is correct.

My main problem with outdoor plumbing is the lines you’re going to get in cities/apartment complexes. And as charming as it would be to shout “gardy loo!” again, 10+ stories worth of chamberpot waste sounds like a health crisis nightmare.

CPR saved one of my relatives, the 911 dispatcher walked her husband through it over the phone, but she’d had an abnormal heart event. A gunshot wound is not a heart event.
