Susan Faludi’s book Backlash talks about Phyllis a lot, along with several other anti-feminist activist women in the eighties. One of the things that links a lot of these women together is that they are granted privelage by the patriarchy, sometimes considerable privelage, provided they throw feminism under the bus.

Well a person of interest could be a witness or someone else that is suspected to have knowledge of the crime or those involved in it. So it’s a bit misleading to not call the suspect a suspect regardless of whether the are also a person of interest.

Nope. I can’t speak for everywhere (regulations vary state-by-state, I believe), but a relative of mine went to a fairly prestigious cosmetology school and this kind of intricate braiding was not part of the curriculum. I am very okay with having regulation in place over establishments that use chemicals (dyes, perms)

I have gay family members and gay friends. I’m a huge advocate for anti-discrimination laws for LGBT+ people. I proudly consider myself an ally.
