Slandering biden won’t help Bernie get the nomination. Enough with using Republican lies against biden. Enough with the ludicrous conspiracy theories. Enough with the name calling. Enough with terroristic threat to sit out the election or even vote for Trump. The voter have spoken. They are just not that into Bernie Read more

Institutions are, by design, slow to react to change. This is the primary reason why the US got stuck with the current sociopath in charge of the country; first the Republican Party, then the media, and finally the Democratic Party all were defeated by an insistence on playing by the rules instead of realizing, soon Read more

The Republican National Convention is scheduled for the end of August, in North Carolina. Trump seems to be looking forward to it. Best of luck. Read more

I tried this yesterday, and we the initial hair-tie ear straps, they immediately popped off my ear on one side and would not stay on. I added an extra hair tie on either side, and that made the straps too long. I ended up anchoring it to my bun, which seemed to keep it stable. Read more

I am seeing so much conflicting advice about masks, including several health care professionals saying that cloth masks don’t really help. I think I am going to need to make some this weekend (also by hand with terrible sewing skills so you won’t be the only one!) because people in my area are becoming aggressive in Read more

It seems we are having holes in produce here, but at the same time the restaurant suppliers are dying to get rid of it so they are setting up produce boxes and shit all over the place. To me, that sounds a lot more like just a tangle in the typical supply chain and hopefully it can be worked out sooner than later.

I was telling my mom the other day that I’m shocked (but also kind of not) at how selfish and/or dumb people are being right now by not staying the fuck home.  I haven’t left my apartment in 25 days.  It sucks, but I don’t understand how some people have such a hard time thinking about someone other than themselves.

I can see that being a worry. If you do end up making them, you could just wear it around the house for a bit. If there’s fit issues, you can adjust the design before you use it outside. Read more

I was wondering that too! People also tend to not have a lot of storage space in Europe, at least compared to here. When I lived over there a costco-sized pack of toilet paper would have taken up half my living room.

I have like 4 airplane handout eye-masks that aren’t any good for sleep. I’ve been eyeing the elastic straps on them thinking that at some point they’ll be useful for home made face masks.

This was our first trip to the grocery in about two weeks. Judging by the amount of stuff we bought, we should be good for two to three weeks more. I wonder what’s happening in Europe, where there are traditions that lean against storing a lot of food at home.

The Shoprite freezes meat on its “expiration” date and stores it for the food pantry. We get 250-500# each week, and it’s good stuff. They don’t do it for nothing—they get a tax deduction—but yeah, there’s generally a lot of food waste. I blame a lot of that on the advent of “best by” dates.

We have lots of regular Read more

Thank you. It seems we are going to have to wear masks to cover our mouths after all so they might as well be stylish.
