“And I’m not trying to be in a selfish way.”

It’s good to know children around the world were probably resisting the packaged aesthetics of their Barbies, not just my playmates.

Sad and terrible, but oh-so probably true.

Good question. When I saw the trailer (I think it was playing during Jojo Rabbit previews), it was so clear it was Shia LaBeouf’s life story, with him playing a version of his father. Good for him for accomplishing this, but I don’t really want to watch what looks like a therapy exercise-cum-performance art.

My mother was a lifelong member of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union, which amazingly still exists. Guess how THAT turned out with me?

She is also the most defaced and damaged toy out there apparently.

Yum. A double-batch is never a bad thing. You could freeze the excess for after Christmas.

The see-through-ness is truly awful at high street shops. I basically only buy dark tops for work at those types of places (if at all) because the light-coloured ones are always going to pose a bra/cami dilemma. I have to go to places like Theory and splurge on white/ecru blouses because at this point not even places

If you’re into GBBO, you might enjoy MasterChef Australia. It’s a multi-episode per week affair, so it can be dangerous to get into, but it is generally free of the drama of American cooking shows. Though not as wholesome and soothing as GBBO (production is slick), it is generally warm and the contestants are

We are no longer content to bring our own chair if one is not provided, we are telling you that you damn well better

More like Newsies battle soft.

Oh, thank you. This is terrific.
(And yes, thank you for the invitation.)

If a white candidate like Pete doesn’t understand the origins of systemic racism, he’s formulating the wrong solutions (busing, charter schools, tough-on-crime laws).

This Pete fellow seems to me like a bit of an asshole.

Most don’t even listen.. they talk into an echo chamber of other white (and white aligned) voices about the “blacks” and come up with their “inspired” solutions without so much minority input as a black little pepper in their mashed potatoes.

He only called to be able to tell audiences and reporters that he called.

Every film and TV set needs more people who feel as confident and assured as Union to be outspoken and point out this crap on the spot. Bravo to her. And she doesn’t need these shit gigs, so more power to her.

PR was a pleasant surprise during Season 1 (and they chose the correct winner in Jay).  I’ve stopped watching it, but did the catch half of the revival with Karlie Kloss and Christian Siriano. It’s actually a good reboot.
