Dollar-store Goebbels is looking rough for 34. This is your face on hate, kids.

Thank you! I make this correction all the time because I'm a pedantic asshole.

I just can’t understand why they didn’t fight harder to get all those Kool-Aid references corrected!

All of y’all are amazing - I can’t even begin to find all the people that deserve thank yous but you are a little angel & you’re doing the lord’s work, my friend...& going at it like a yeoman, at that.

If they’d just brought the Flavor-Aid like he told them, that post never would have happened!

Just the one hand; I'm sure the other was busy.

I wish things would go back to how they were when I spent my evenings (I live in europe) going back and forth between splinter, jezebel and gizmodo, hoping for new content and notifications that someone replied to my post. Instead of how it is now, surprise and mild disbelief that jezebel is still up and most comments

Hey Shep, best of luck to you in everything you do in the future. You and your colleagues made something many readers try to avoid and turned it into something they all can look forward to. I know your best days are only ahead of you.

Looks like Ryan M is on board, he just promoted my post on the subject in his blog

I guess that’s sorta happening with splinter/deadspinrip now, but it’s kinda uncoordinated. And there’s a reasonable fear THE PIECE OF SHIT OWNERSHIP will shut those operations down if they catch wind of them, so people are trying to be subtle I think. But that’s less of a risk with something on a different platform.

I would think something more like a personal blog post to be the focal point, something that could be shared in the various comment threads as a way for people to go to, to offer support. Even your idea of starting something on reddit?

Problem is, Kinja has no way to easily communicate among members. Like, we can’t send PMs, so it’s hard to coordinate unless you start a thread in the comments.

This is excellent.

Honestly, since the fall of Splinter, I totally expected Kotaku to be next.

Maybe i am stretching, but i would like to think that within the readership exists the people with the knowledgebase to at the least start exploring the possibility, i mean how many lawyers alone read the sites and comment? how man industry people, never mind if someone could pull in former and current staff to help

It could be done, but I’m toward the bottom of the ladder in terms of ability to contribute financially. Academia doesn’t pay well.

That said, if we get a GoFundMe or something similar started to purchase the sites, I’d give what I could—and demand only that I be allowed to keep my Doge avatar and obsession with my

With everything that has been going on since the fall of Gawker, the uncertainty of ownership and employment, and now with G/O and Spanfucker, it has had me thinking for some time.

I said this in another post, but it bears repeating: Fuck Spanfeller. I’d be sitting here reading Deadspin right now, at work, if you weren’t such a fucking dipshit.
