There is no solution, not for the near-to-mid future. You want a long-term solution? It’s going to involve making conservatism impossible in the United States, and obliterating the Chinese government. BOTH OF THOSE.

Lol actually that’s not how this works. Because see that $40 product will now cost $50 after a 25% tariff.

There isn’t any other countries to go to though.
China sits on nearly all of the planets rare earth metals and tech products can’t be made without them.
It’s as simple as that, basically. People can complain, add taxes/tariffs, threaten to go elsewhere but at the end of the day there is no other game in town.. or

They’re not going to move because of the tariffs. It cost money to start up new manufacturing plants, to train them, etc. We don’t know who the next president will be nor their stance. By the time, companies shift their production, the next person in charge could simply do away with the tariff.

I wouldn't blame you if you've never worked in manufacturing, but easier said than done. Moreover that's a us centric view you have for international companies. These companies would take probably two years to set up in another country since this isn't something basic like shoes. So they definitely won't do that for

Sure cuz there’s only one country in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD that buys in bulk from China...good ol’s US of A. Surely there is no other country that buys ANYTHING from China. Honestly, the only set of people who will suffer from this dingbat we call our president is the average consumer base. China can and will sell

hurting China is not a win. The goal was supposed to be getting more jobs in the US by getting more things built in the US. moving this from China to another non US country does nothing to boost US based jobs.

I was going to google Ouya to make some jokes about that but then this happened and that’s good enough for me

You misspelled “Treyarch”.

“some say they’ve been working around 70 hours a week. So it was a gut punch to at least a few of them when, in January of this year, news broke that the video game publisher Activision had given a cash and stock bonus worth up to $15 million to its new chief financial officer, Dennis Durkin. They didn’t even qualify

Y'all motherfuckers need unions

My Mom used to take me to one here in Colorado when I was small, and I’ve loved them ever since. I’d like to see them return, but I’d also like to see the locals buy them back.

I’m with Watt on the whole adding kolaches to the menu. Actually, I’ve always kind of wondered why they never had them in the first place.

I’ve had In-n-Out in Baldwin Park, arguably the best IaO in the country and I still prefer the Whataburger right down the road from me in the Dallas area. While it (IaO) was/is definitely good, Whataburger is better. Now, I’m not saying it’s like 100x better, but to me, it’s the better tasting burger.

I moved to TX from CA about 10 years ago. The burgers are total gut bombs; I’m not a fan myself. The Whatachicken Sandwich is really good; maybe the best non-Chick-Fil-A fast food chicken sandwich I’ve had. The shakes are really good (especially the root beer float shake, when it’s available). Their taquitos are great

We have In-and-Out in Texas now, and I don’t see the fuss. How is it anything other than a so-so Five Guys with worse fries?

Envy is not a good look.

Whataburger rules. We have some In N Outs here and the only people lining up for them were confused yankees. I had it. Nothing special. I'll take Whataburger, thanks.

Nah, fuck you.

I actually like Whataburger but they closed the one in Orlando and I’m not trying to go all the way to Jacksonville.  Fortunately a Culver’s opened up here.
