Except that their are limitations to television and films so fucking duh. This past year saw RDR2 have a narrative well over 100 hours long in a single release. So t SE carrying on about how this is “so big” it has to be sold via separate episodes is corporate nonsense

Yeah man.  How dare people actually criticize shit.  Why can’t gamers just blindly buy into all the corporate hype and just willingly pay $60 like the whales they are!

At this point, I’d probably would have liked a remaster like Final Fantasy VI.

I’ll see your Final Fantasy and raise you my (beloved) Metal Gear Solid!

I just really want to see some of whatever they’re adding to make Midgar an entire games worth. So far they’ve only showed us things that we’ve already seen before, nothing that would extend Midgar to a full game’s length. The only drastic thing I’ve seen new, not counting just added cutscenes, was the motorcycle

Unfortunately we can’t say anything more about the future games, because we don’t know ourselves.”

Yikes.

Honestly I just want to know whats after Midgar? Is it still open world? Do we still get to in-bred Chocobos until they have brain damage? DO WE GET TO FLY AN AIRSHIP?

Plus the length of that demo’d boss fight makes it look like they’re seriously padding the play time with the over the top cinematics.  I’m not sure I want to play 60+ hours to get 10% of the way through a game.

In which case a good old apology goes a long way. I’m less inclined to believe she wouldn’t have known, globalism and whatnot. It’s  not like an obscure topic.

You can cosplay as a character without altering your skin tone, it’s not that hard of a concept. I’m not going to be upset if a black woman decides to cosplay as Tifa Lockhart after all.

1.) I never made any assumptions here outside of it being a good idea just to avoid blackface, regardless if you are out to insult an entire race or not.

It’s not that hard, cosplay the character without changing your skintone. You don’t also pinch your eyes in order to look like a Japanese character, do you? I hope not, that’s a hell of a way to be offensive as well.

I mean sure, but only because Trump seems to do that. You really shouldn’t aim to look like the Donald T.

Yep, Europe. I know we don’t always see eye to eye, but Really-

Yeah, pushback against practices with historical and sustained racist connotations is just “fragile feelings”

Because of history, those things are not equivalent. Blackface was once used in a way that dehumanized the people it was portraying: it is a part of a racist legacy. Even if the person doing it now has zero intention of doing anything racist, the act itself has a long history of racism attached to it, and it’s not

“isn’t it about time to take a more nuanced look..”

How come this does not go both ways?

No. White washing is when studios cast white people. It has nothing to do with cosplay or halloween costumes. It is a winnable situation if you think first.

Hey: nah. Blackface is bad. Darkening your skin tone to alter your perceived race, even for cosplay, is bad.
