You are missing an important part of the protest. The issue wasn’t simply that a new pipeline was being built - it was the location of the pipeline.
I don’t understand your comment - rather than have protesters say no to building a pipeline they should be protesting the fact that pipelines are unsafe in general? Meanwhile the pipeline gets built and later fails?
Exactly. People driving for Uber aren’t choosing between having some wonderful job or driving a cab. Uber is kind of a shitty job...and that’s OK. It is a shitty job at at least allows you to work whenever you want or can.
That’s because the local laws and ordinances are biased to support the taxi companies.
This is not a good argument though. The reality of it is more like “if humans drive and kill 30,000 people a year its their fault. If automated cars drive and kill 1,000 people it’s Google’s fault.” That’s a good problem to have.
It doesn’t get cold in Seattle.
The whole “not have to worry about recruiting” line that keeps coming up is dumb as hell. This site wrote like 100 articles this summer about Harbaugh recruiting - he clearly loves that aspect of the job.
Yep, definitely a Sparty.
Always hilarious to see people criticizing clickbait while reading gawker.
That’s literally the point of the site and statistics in general. If I ask you to flip a coin 10 times statistically speaking the most likely result is 5 heads and 5 tails, but no one is going to tell you that is exactly what is going to happen. 538 doesn’t tell you who is going to win the election, it says who is…
It’s for people who don’t have a WiiU or haven’t already bought the games. It sounds like you probably don’t need one.
And sometimes you get a ticket. Sorry but it just happens.
All I want is enough money that I can spend multiple thousand dollars on a ticket to a sports game only hoping to watch my rival lose to a random second team.
A rational person sees that as sarcasm but so many people legitimately believe this. There is an insanely large part of America who doesn’t believe anything in the New York Times but will blindly accept something written on Infowars.
To be fair Gilbert legitimately owns like half the real estate in Detroit. He did give a bunch of money to the campaign so it doesn’t seem unlikely that he was involved in some way, but just having it at a building he owns doesn’t mean anything.
Those are all outdoor unfortunately. I also know the one in Northbrook isn’t banked enough for the Olympics, not sure about the other two though.
The article says the total design fees were $408.5 million, Calatrava’s cut was $80. That is interesting about not being able to find a contractor - why is that?
Peyton Manning will be able to put his shoes on for the next 3 years before he dies.
The best part is how does he have any dept perception to drain shots like that with an eye patch on?
