It’s still worth mentioning that they haven’t commented. That’s basic newswriting 101.

Sounds like we found one of the assholes that goes to these gatherings. And this was not the only incident. If you follow the threads on social media Wildwood people are claiming the police blotter was filled the whole weekend with accidents and other carnage. And there was at least one other incident with serious

It’s saying a lot that you chose to take a figure of speech as a literal statement.

The unsactioned gathering is what draws these folks in. This guy was just the worst offender becuase he killed two people.  Please tell me what “other points of view” I should examine about having modded cars drag race in the middle of a small town with a lot of pedestrian traffic.

That’s a big assumption there buddy....that I would support reckless driving anywhere let alone in my own community where my neighbors and friends would be at risk. Do I support people modding their own cars even if I think it looks silly? Sure. If these folks want to “unnoffically” get together in a big parking lot

Tell me, if Exxon Mobil, Chevron, or Koch Enterprises decided to do the exact same thing, would you be worried about the tax implications of it?

Yeah, hmm, I wonder why Bloomberg has a problem with what they’re doing.  Why are we dumb enough to take their opinions at face value here?

What a shitty hipster hit piece. Yes, the owners avoided capital gains taxes from selling the shares, they also gave up the capital gains of 2.3 billion dollars! If you want to fault the family for controlling who they give the profits to, the time for that is when you know who the recipients are and what they do with

It is just pure bullshit either way. This prevents his heirs from selling the company and profiting from it and ensures the money goes to charity. People will find anything to complain about apparently.

Congrats on regurgitating right wing bullshit.  He never intended to sell the company, so he was never going to pay a $700M tax bill upon the sale.

Just wait until Steve finds out about shipping container homes, he’s going to freak that people are paying to live in “dumpsters”.

It’s 105 where I live today I absofuckinglutely want a cold pool LOL.  Besides depending how deep the line feeding the hose is, that cold water might not be all that cold.  My straight cold water is warm enough to use to take a shower lol.

I mean, in-ground pools are just wet holes in the ground. What a weird take.

It’s definitely a shipping container - and they’re typically designed to be partially buried so you end up with something that looks like any other in-ground pool.

I’m as critical of Tesla as they come, but this is silly.

This was my first thought. Insurance is supposed to be approaching actual cash value, and that’s nowhere near close here. A quick look around me and I see ‘13 Civic Hybrids at or over $17k - not $14k.

Annndd good luck finding one for under 14k

I really don’t mind carmakers ‘running lean’ and not flooding the lots with cars.... as long as I the consumer can actually order a car for MSRP and receive a car in a reasonable time frame, and not have to play games with the local dealer and pay their $8000 surcharge.

On the other hand I constantly see plates with tinted covers that all but completely obscure the plate. How do these people get away with it? I feel like I’d get a ticket on day one.

I seriously thought this post was satire because I can’t fathom someone saying saving thousands of lives at the mere cost of a few seconds of inconvenience a few times a day (literally, maybe thirty seconds a day) was a serious thought uttered by a rational person. But then you trotted that tired exercise and fast
