And I imagine if they had body scanners at the time, they’d use them.

This is a reasonable and informative take. Thank you!
Well it sounds like pulling some metrics and making decisions based on those is a step in the right direction.
Yes I think the commenters here have demonstrated that people are willing (and allowed) to complain about every conceivable thing. I invoke the Founding Fathers (ugh) because that person specifically mentioned rights are being violated. That suggests a fundamental wrong is happening and I’m not sure that’s the case.
Well so now we’re talking about threading the needle, I guess. Most of these measures are reactionary, anyway, and can only prevent the attack they are in response to. So the body scanners are attempting to reduce the number of box cutters that make their way on airplanes. If it’s too proactive then it’s soundly…
Isn’t picking on grammar, spelling and syntax the last refuge of the conquered? Or at least, it’s an attempt to bolster a shaky argument? Imagine a world where someone could adopt a different voice to mock poor arguments. You may have seen this tactic employed with the spongebob bird meme.
What specific rights are…
If I had to budget an hour and a half to get on the bus but also the bus travels at hundreds of miles an hour and isn’t beholden to roads but is also tens of thousands of feet in the air. And also in this metaphor the bus system is heavily traveled and has been subjected to decades of well documented terrorist…
That’s why their battle cry is “MINOR TO MINOR+ INCONVENIENCE TO AMERICA!” right?
And it’s not like the US is the first country to step up security at its airports, either. I distinctly remember seeing armed guards at European airports in the 90's. The experience that people want is called “chartering a private jet” and it remains as much of an option now as it has ever been.
Ah! That’s the common mistake; the Declaration is just a statement of intent. If only they had written The Cancun Clause into the actual Constitution.
I... Yeah I guess so. If they want to add $400 to every ticket so I can stretch out and not be packed in then okay do that but the number of people who could afford to fly would plummet. I’m not sure what experience you’re envisioning but I suspect it’s not possible at current price points.
Well, yes. And I do remember pre-9/11 flying. But then when I was younger, airfare wasn’t affordable for a lot of people. It still isn’t but it’s getting better. Flying is closer to taking the bus, now, in terms of glamour and comfort.
And while the “security theater” is broadly true, probably, it’s not like no one…
Wow, you’re really abrasive.
yikes my dude i forgot about the right to fly without being hassled as envisioned by are founding fathers’
boooooo this is a bad take
ouch my feeling your hurtingthem
You think kids in NYC are dreaming about taking out their parents’ car? There’s no such thing as a “real american”.
what do you need two cars for? are there two drivers in your house?
You might be overestimating the average lifehacker reader’s access to live poultry and live poultry accessories.
yo why don’t you take a step back
The goal here is to recreate their dipping sauce, which is distinctly different from garlic butter. It’s definitely an emulsion, and that’s probably why there’s water in it. Understand, I’m not going to try this recipe but I feel like you’re a step away from telling her to FOAD.
