I guess emulation is really a completely different endeavor than game development. Thank you for your reply.

Interesting. I guess I was just thinking about the common notion last generation about how much easier it was to develop concurrently on PC and 360 opposed to PS3. Emulation must be really different. Thanks for the reply.

I must have been thinking of cross platform ports last generation that were developed concurrently. Makes sense :)

I see. I must have been thinking of cross platform ports of games in concurrent development from last generation. This makes sense. Thank you for a thoughtful reply :)

I’ll probably still pick this up to play with my daughter. Hopefully the next one puts Kirby back on track.

Let me preface this comment by stating that I have no idea how programming and emulation actually works.

When I was far too young to play games, I recall being amazed by the arcade games at the pizza parlor near our house when I was 3 or 4. Centipede, Galaga, Pole Position, Star Wars, and Donkey Kong. I especially loved sitting in the Star Wars deluxe cockpit cabinet and flying the X-Wing.

Dang! It’s kind of funny that I never really thought about it before, but Kirby is one of the most consistently excellent franchises in gaming for over 25 years. His mainline games are almost all great, his spin-offs are also almost universally great, and he’s never had a long spell of misfires. Only a couple of minor

LOL, right??? Amazon is great for their 20% discount on Prime preorders, but over half of the time my game either ships late or gets delayed in transit, so I’m always getting new releases 1-3 days late. Normally not that big of a deal, but Nintendo games release on Fridays, so I miss out on weekend play time :(

Now playing

I love how this relatively forgotten song was used in Boogie Nights for Dirk Diggler’s coke-fueled vanity music project.

People need to stop referring to this game as a Zelda-like. Aside from a sword and overhead perspective, they are wildly different. I’m glad I played this game before before buying it, because it was described as similar to classic Zelda games (by a PC gamer friend who never played Zelda) and I came away disappointed.

I’m not in disagreement with you. It’s a great idea. Potentially a game changer for the market. I feel like most of the reaction is positive, if cautiously skeptical because we’ve only seen a couple games that use these toys and they are super basic. This is definitely for kids, and I think when they introduce a more

Oh, I misunderstood. Yes, an entire Akira feature in this style would look gorgeous. Probably would look similar to Tekkonkinkreet (also gorgeous).

Tell me more about that bird, though...

I think that this is a cool idea. It’s not the kind of game or peripheral that everybody has the desire to play, though. Not everyone has good space in their home to put these to use. I think most people are impressed by the utility of building your own peripherals and the intelligent idea of low-cost recyclable

Did you look through the rest of the slides? There’s totally an Akira one with Kaneda and Tetsuo :)

God, I hated this controller. I have large hands, with especially long fingers, and while the bulk of the controller does feel good in the palms- the terrible buttons and their placement layout in relation to each other completely nullified that benefit. Also, the d-pad is the worst in the history of first party

Cho-Aniki is a weird game, but not bad. Especially the 16-bit titles on PC Engine and Super Famicom. The later titles incorporating fighting game moves into the standard scrolling shooter gameplay. This series is probably the most beloved legacy of Japanese developer Masaya. There was a pretty lousy follow up early in

I just don’t see the appeal. I finished it and immediately sold it back to GameStop. I know I’m a monster. I just couldn’t find the same magic that I found in the original DKC games. Don’t hate me.

Computer games?? Gross. 😜
