Those games would be nice for those who missed out- but if I’m being honest, I doubt I would ever revisit them. I just named my top picks :)

Don’t stop now, Nintendo! Gimme ports of Pikmin 3, Capt. Toad, Wind Waker HD, Kirby Rainbow Curse, and maybe Wonderful 101 and I can give my Wii U the Viking funeral it deserves.

I think number 3 applies to everyone across ethnic lines. I think it’s more about socially awkward sports fans who don’t have an outlet to talk about boring sports.

To his credit: Harrison Ford DID remove the earring.

Finally some Wreckless love in here.

They are nearly indistinguishable. The levels, music, cinematics, and gameplay are all the same, so far. Maybe the ending has some new surprises?

Saga is amazing, but it doesn’t encapsulate what defines the series like first couple of games (in my opinion). I think the shooter games in the series leave a lot to the player’s imagination in a way that benefits the world in which the series takes place. Plus- the focused paths through the levels are so gorgeous.

I’ve seen them, too. It’s the same game.

The title screen has been slightly modified, and some of the text dialog has been altered. but so far, I see no difference in the time I’ve spent with the the SNES Classic version.

For the vast majority of fans, the hype is definitely real. It’s really cool of Nintendo to show this game love after all these years. I guess I just didn’t find it surprising that repro carts are being made. I can’t imagine the changes being significant at all.

To be fair- this is the first time it’s been available for wide release. I haven’t had a chance to dig in to the “official” Star Fox 2 release, but I can’t imagine there’s much difference compared to the leaked beta that’s been around for years.

I’ve had a reproduction cart of Star Fox 2 for almost 2 years. The game leaked almost a decade ago and fans have been able to emulate it ever since.

I don’t blame any physical retailer for prioritizing in-store customers over online sales. The online preorder sales were a complete disaster and likely made up a very small percentage of the total number of units received by each major retailer. With the exception of Amazon, these retailers all have thousands of

Star Fox 2 on SNES Classic for me :)

Same. My 2 year old daughter will only drink out of 2 or 3 of the 43 bottles we have. Over the past month I’ve tossed 8 of them into the recycling bin and the missus hasn’t noticed. I’m going to keep recycling them until she starts to notice. Then I’ll play dumb and lay low for a week.

That’s very true. However, the names flashed at the end are definitely not from Eidos’ stable.

That’s expensive. They confirmed no physical edition in North America? Seems like an easy way to capitalize on a nostalgia grab like this. Any word on an English language Hong Kong physical version? I won’t pay more than $15 for a download :/

By that logic, Resident Evil 4 doesn’t belong here either, since it was exclusive for less than a year and then ended up on everything else over the past 12 years. In any case, it’s Luke’s list, and the comments section is for the peanut gallery to argue and defend it. Unless he decides to edit the list it’s not going

I did say that I wish there were more spots on the list, Melee is definitely a good game- but I wouldn’t trade any of these for Melee. It’s good, but as a series Smash Bros. isn’t especially important to me. To each their own.

This is consistently the most accurate “Best of” list on Kotaku, I think. I wouldn’t change any of these games (I just wish there were maybe 5 additional spots available).
