Definitely a tie between Uncharted and Heavenly Sword.
Demon's Souls, Flower, Street Fighter IV. It was a good year for games.
TIE: Bionic Commando: Rearmed and MGS4.
Platinum bookended the year with Bayonetta and Vanquish. Bayonetta ran like shit on PS3, though- so maybe it gives the edge to Vanquish?
It doesn't need to be the end-all-be-all. Feel free to like whatever you like, but try not to care so much that other people like different things than you do.
Yes. Linear Hack-n-slash- ala God of War, Devil May Cry, etc.
It's a divisive game. If you love classic Castlevania and/or Symphony of the Night and the other exploration-based platforming CV titles, keep in mind that this new series has NOTHING in common besides the Castlevania name and a story that revolves around Dracula. If you love modern hack-n-slash games like God of War,…
Is it not possible that people who played and loved Super Metroid also played and loved Symphony of the Night? You pose this question like it's an either/or, binary choice. Symphony of the Night was a fantastic original game that evolved the core franchise while maintaining most of the original platforming gameplay of…
Seems like a pretty mediocre-to-average range of scores. I was never fond of the first LoS, and was surprised at the relatively high scores it earned overall. I wonder if this game is actually worse than the first, or if critics are penalizing the new game to make up for the overly-generous scores of the first.
I came here to post the same thing. The Randy episodes are my favorites :)
Nothing this week, for me. March is looking pretty stacked, though. I want to see some South Park reviews.
Allow me to be of no constructive help at all: I LOVE THIS GAME. Whatever they're doing, I hope they keep doing it. I was never very fond of Little Big Planet (loved the concept and the aesthetic- I just didn't find it fun to play). But this game is something completely different. It was completely unexpected, and it…
I think I'll just stick with the SNES DKC games. I borrowed the first DKC:R from a friend and found it to be a pale imitation of the originals. It looked mostly right, but not quite. It sounded mostly right, but not quite. It felt mostly right, but had shitty waggle moves forced onto it. The original DKC games were…
Agreed. I think I like the concept of the game more than I'll like the actual game. I lose interest in rogue-likes within an hour or two, and outside of "Jamestown", I haven't seen a western developer really nail the traditional scrolling-shooter genre in a very long time. Looks like I'll be waiting even longer...
That's where I am. I play every platform, and I get them at launch about half of the time. But the last two launch consoles I jumped on burned me pretty bad. The 3DS (which I now love) and the Wii U (which took almost a year to be worthwhile). As opposed to last gen, where I got a Wii on day one (easy decision, since…
It's hard to forgive a travesty like this.
You got further than I ever got. This turd was played in my living room for one frustrating weekend in 1991, and then was relegated to the back of the entertainment center. About a year later I traded it to some sucke... er- "friend" for a copy of Blaster Master. It was a good trade (for me).
THERE'S A SECOND LEVEL????
