As long as the price is $299 or less and Pikimin 3 is a launch title (not launch-window, it must be a launch title) then I'll try to pick it up on day one. Otherwise, I think I can wait.

I'm not a fan of that particular game, but that is a BEAUTIFUL custom cabinet. Give your bros a high five from me- some random guy on the internet :)

If you're somehow implying that scrolling shooters begin and end with R-Type, then maybe this is the right cabinet for you. Have fun playing that game on a vertically-oriented screen, while you're at it ;)

The vertical screen is very nice, but I can think of a great many scrolling shooters that require more than two buttons :(

It looks well made, but doesn't really have any of the charm or utility of many classic cabinets... Only two buttons???

That's a cute little ditty, too. But the voices kind of walk that line between adorable and terrifying ;)

Awwww man- I'm sad to hear that :(

SERIOUSLY. AssCreed's plot comes across like a poor man's Quantum Leap. If more western games would focus more heavily on elements such as visual/artistic stylization and gameplay and left the stupid story elements on the cutting room floor, I'd probably play a lot more western games.

You make an excellent counterpoint. Couldn't have said it better myself.

That's cool. If this one has a demo, I'll give it a try, but I'm not expecting them to overhaul the fighting mechanics. I don't want to get my hopes up. Glad you like the games, though.

Looking back through the comments, it seems like a lot of us were asking that. I don't know if she responded to everyone, but she responded to me and a couple others.

yeah, that's what one of the guys at Gamestop told me yesterday- so I hope that's true :)

Not a bad deal at all, I'd say ;)

I got a helpful response from the XSEED employee who was answering questions earlier today on Kotaku. Apparently August 14th wasn't the release date, but was actually the ship date. Headaches and confusion ensued. I still don't have my game either, but in the future I hope they don't announce a ship date instead of a

yeah, I guess you're right- air juggles would be a little ridiculous. I guess I was just thinking more of the tighter/faster pace and the better guard mechanics. I'm glad to hear that it appears that Ubisoft is overhauling the combat mechanics, though :)

I definitely agree. Of course I also think they would do just as well to borrow certain combat elements of Ninja Gaiden, or Devil May Cry, or God of War- anything would be better than the combat in Assassin's Creed, really (in my opinion). But I certainly think Arkham Asylum does a good job of simplifying combat while

Sorry if I dissed your favorite game series. I don't really care what direction Assassin's Creed goes in- I'm clearly not a fan, so I was never going to buy it in the first place. I didn't read any comments about MVC3, but never had any problems with that games combat either. Honestly though, I think that trying to

*High five*

It's funny that this discussion is happening in relation to Assassin's Creed, because that game in particular stands out in my mind as having cumbersome, un-fun, unresponsive combat. I would rather they just rip off what already works in another game (ala the pictured Arkham Asylum) than to try and refine what they've

Oh, ok. Thanks for the clarification (or for even responding at all!). I'm still looking forward to the game, I'm just frustrated that I can't throw my money at you just yet :(
