Did Last Story secretly get delayed again at the last minute? Why can't I find it anywhere?

Agreed. I think the vapor trails and natural daylight effects look terrific, but those textures... yeesh.
I was actually going to bring up the Kinect as well when you mentioned that you were interested the Move's other potential applications. I agree that these are both exciting technologies. It's why I was interested in the Move in the first place. But with the Kinect, it has become very clear that MS has nothing of…
I'm in the Bay Area of northern California, and I couldn't find it in any of the Gamestop stores around me. I was just looking around to see if anyone had already gotten their copy. I think the game may have gotten a last minute delay.
Oh man- that's a good deal, but I've only had horrrrrible experiences buying games through DeepDiscount. Slooooooow shipping, and constantly back-ordered titles combined with awful communication- sometimes you'll end up with the wrong version of a game you ordered, or they'll just cancel your order a month after you…
I feel you on the length thing. Sounds like you're maybe a third of the way through the game. I took about a month and a half break from Xenoblade, but thankfully they have all the tutorials available to you throughout the game, so it's pretty easy to pick up where you left off, and it's pretty easy to just study…
I can usually make time for a good video game debate, so I certainly don't feel that my time was wasted (we're all visiting kotaku for a good time, anyway- I hope). If you don't find a good job right out of college, don't sweat it too much. You can always get a bad job that pays the bills and keep doing good work that…
Fair enough. Good day to you sir, and good luck with your physical therapy endeavor. I actually think the technology in the Move has a lot of potential in the near future- even if I don't see much value in it's gaming applications ;)
Good. Everyone needs to play this game :)
And I thought you weren't going to argue anymore ;)
I use my Wii all the time and the thing is STILL covered in dust. It seems like the more I use a system, the dustier it gets. I wonder why that is? My 360 gets used the least, and while it's covered in dust too- it doesn't seem like there's as much dust on it as there is on the Wii. My PS3 has the most dust for sure,…
There's nothing defective with my Move controller- it just sucks. They all do. Maybe the time you've spent programming and working with the device has helped you become more comfortable with the device. Maybe you've adapted to the shortcomings and you no longer notice them. Maybe you don't see them because you just…
yeah, it seems like the tech is much more advanced, but it's so poorly implemented and the software is so unbearably bad, that all that potential is completely wasted. It just doesn't work as well. It doesn't. If it didn't suck so hard, there would be plenty of love for it.
*edit*- I actually have played Tumble. I forgot what it was called, but a free demo came with the Move when I first bought it. It works pretty well with the system, probably because it requires small, slow, precise movement and nothing fast-paced or with strong camera movement. Not really my kind of game, though.
So I just looked up a YouTube video of Tumble. Turns out, I have played it- a demo came with the Move when it first launched (for all I know, they pack in a different set of Move demos with the current bundles). It's an alright diversion, but I would get bored with that game in less than an hour. I remember thinking…
No, I haven't played Tumble. Haven't even heard of it. If there's a free demo, I'll give it a shot, though. As for lag, it's definitely not my set- I did a ton of research before I bought this set (37" Aquos 1080p LCD) and made sure that it didn't have any picture post-processing effects, and I have literally cycled…
Oh yes- I was a huge fan of the Saturn for it's amazing 2D action games. I even got mine modded so I could import Japanese games. The PS1 dominated for overall variety and AAA blockbusters, but for sheer quality of 2D Japanese games, there was no touching the good old Saturn :)
I've played most of the titles you've mentioned, and I'm sorry, but they almost unanimously sucked balls. House of the Dead series/Time Crisis especially so (as well as the Dead Space Extraction HD port which came bundled with Dead Space 2). I think they really illustrate one of the major shortcomings of modern motion…
Yessssssssss.
The difference is that there are great Wii titles with which to compare the bad ones to. The PS3 Move pretty much only has bad games, or good games with mediocre motion controls tacked on. If something works in a tech demo but cannot be or is not ever implemented in marketable software, then yes- you certainly can say…
