My local Kia dealers are completely worthless, and every one of their GT2s are AWD.

Compared to an M5 or Demon, my M235i is a bit of a slug- even so, I like the way it doesn’t advertise the performance capability it does have.
Unfortunately, many automobile manufacturers have succeeded in convincing the unwashed masses that RWD vehicles are only safe to driver on straight, level and dry pavement. I’ve actually had some poor fools tell me that the reason they won’t get a RWD car is because they need a vehicle that they can drive in the…
I come from a “Ford Family” but I haven’t owned a Ford since I sold my 1984 Turbo Coupe work beater back in 1998. While a GT350 might still wind up in my garage, nothing else Ford builds interests me in the slightest.
I wouldn’t buy a Camry if it came with an $18,000 tax credit.
I’ve owned 11 BMWs and even so I bought a Mazdaspeed 3, lightly modded it, and drove it for 8 years and 158k. I replaced it with a CPO M235i, but I might have gone for a new MS3 had Mazda deigned to build one. My next car? I’m being sorely tempted by a Stelvio Quadrifoglio.
“Fast” is a moving target, no pun intended. My daily driver isn’t even an eight second car, but it gets the job done.

I started driving in 1973, when a car that ran the quarter in under 16 seconds was considered a rocket ship. When 1980 rolled around I had an Arrow 2.6 GT; with a 10 second 0-60 it was the fastest car Chrysler sold. Those were extremely dark days. In 1992 I ran an E24 M6 fitted with a Euro exhaust and a Dinan chip. It…
It struggles to run the 1/8 mile in 8.5 seconds- and a mid-four second 0-60 time is average at best. That said, it has held its own pretty well in the HPDE instructor sessions I’ve run it in.
I drove a couple of GTs, and they didn’t feel all that fast to me either. I think part of the reason that the M235i/240i feels so quick is because the motor is making maximum torque fro @1500 rpm to 4500 rpm.
The Mustang’s size was one of the main reasons I passed on a GT. The M235i is the largest car I own.
If you had added a comment about the bumbers and/or the breaks it would have been perfect.
I drove a couple of 2015 GTs with the Performance Package; I even talked myself into almost getting one-even though it really didn’t thrill me or my wife-but it sold as I was en route to buy it. Make no mistake, the Mustang is a wonderful car, but it just wasn’t the car for me.
Same here- on Bimmer #11...
I still need to add the LSD to mine; might add a tune as well. As you mentioned, at best it’s not truly fast in stock form...
Before I bought my CPO 2014 M235 in January 2016 I seriously considered all of the following:
I bought a CPO 2014 M235i a bit over two years ago. It’s proven to be one of my favorite BMWs- right up there with my Club Sport as well as my gone but not forgotten E28 535is and E24 M6. It has served as my DD as well as my HPDE instructor car and it has always performed like a champ. I do prefer the interior of the…
My son’s first car was a 1975 2002 that I had restored(and which included the installation of new seat belts). Before he started driving it to school I sent him to the two day teen school at the BMW Performance Center as well as the one day Street Survival course(where he drove the ‘02). Somehow he survived and is now…
No problem!
