It’s desert-adjacent. Yeah it’s not Jedha or Tatooine, but there’s a lot of brown and a reasonable amount of desolation.

There’s also that fun thing that happens where you don’t know if an area is locked off because you don’t have the ability to open it or it’s just locked off because you’re missing something and not using one of your abilities or the environment correctly.
Ah, didn’t know that. Thanks for the context. It reminds me of when General Grievous is coughing in ROTS and it’s because Mace crushed his ribs in one of the cartoons. Problem is if you didn’t see it (like I’m sure numerous people didn’t) it’s just some weird thing that happens and it makes you wonder if you missed…
He’s fun, but yeah his support tools are extremely situational if you’re not grouped. I use the petal platform most of the time either to escape or to try and disrupt the enemy team by popping it in a doorway. Surprised that his healing output is among the highest in the game too. It still feels clunky and like it’s…
Well they’re doing the new movies with Daisy, so there’s that. That redemption might happen a little faster, we’ll see. I’d love to see Boyega come back. I’ve seen him in a few things here and there but yeah he hasn’t exploded.
He was given the role of a lifetime and people from my generation (OT originals) just savaged the prequels at every turn. You’re right, he did very well with what he was given. Which sadly was a lot of corny dialogue and a lackluster love story.
Truly just a mess wasn’t it? I’ve been wanting to watch it again lately just to clarify how much of a mess it was but I haven’t been having much luck pushing myself to do it. And I say this as a lifelong Star Wars fan.
DJ is probably one of the strangest inclusions in a Star Wars movie. What’s with the stuttering? I can appreciate that maybe Rian Johnson had some idea for the character beyond what he ended up doing, but when you’re farming each movie out to a different person it makes the continuity difficult to pull off.
Bro, I said sequence/side plot. Not “worst Star Wars thing.” Obviously the prequels are gonna win on individual scenes alone. But even so, I’d rather watch the Padme/Anakin Naboo field trip over Canto Bight any day. That forced Rose/Finn pairing. BB-8 spitting those coins out. DJ. Them searching for someone who can…
In my view Canto Bight is the worst sequence/side plot in any of the Star Wars movies. I’d qualify it slightly by saying I’ve seen TROS all of once and it was terrible so maybe there’s stuff in there I would grow to dislike more, but somehow I doubt it.
Thanks for that reminder, could not for the life of me remember it myself. “Vent” was standard for WoW raids back in the day.
IIRC they had arcade mode which had those little silly “story” endings like they had in SF2 and earlier games. Then you’re right they did have that story mode that was Shadoloo-centric and that I think ends up with Bison dying. It was fine. They just had to cobble a lot of stuff together before SF5 felt complete.
I should’ve clarified that I meant 3D water levels. I don’t mind 2D ones, though they’re far from my favorite and I do remember really not liking them in those early Mario games. And that water level in the original TMNT NES game.... Jesus, just kill me now.
I absolutely love that Hayden is so beloved and well received at the conventions. You can tell it’s moving for him too. The prequels are always going to be a mixed bag (and the Kenobi series is too if we’re being honest), but the fact that we still get to enjoy the characters and actors in new series’ is just really…
They have? It’s been a while since I played it, but I picked it up probably a short time after the general opinion on it turned around. So maybe 2017? 2018? What changed fundamentally about the gameplay loop?
This generation will be the last consoles we buy.
Street Fighter 6 feels like a shot in the arm for Capcom’s long-running fighting series after Street Fighter V’s middling reception
Pour one out for the marginalized white males everyone.
Do you stream or have a YouTube? I need to watch you play. I’m baffled at how someone can tackle this shit on the hardest difficulty. I’m on mid and this scorpion motherfucker is making me pull my hair out.
It’s most of them for me. There’s just something missing. You get a feel for how a boss works pretty clearly from, say, a Zelda or Mario game. Then the fun is in doing the stuff you need to do to take it down. It’s never maddening or frustrating. It frequently is in this game. I need like a visual cue or a slowdown or…
