Managed to excuse anti-vaxxers and drop a hot take on The Last of Us all in one post. Edgy.

My favorite part was when they asked him (David Sandberg) about the movie bombing and he said it was cool because he got the money paid up front.

We’re still in the infancy stages with this new DC strategy, but I think it might be hard to make these solo movies that don’t connect to a larger universe. Even more difficult when they don’t even have any notable villains in it. Because at that point you’re just watching a standalone movie about a second-tier DC

One thing they seem to be doing pretty frequently too is changing the pre-match banter between heroes. I remember in OW1 it was the same lines over and over and over. Seems like new lines are being recorded at regular intervals now. Small change but makes a big difference.

Came here to say exactly this. I can’t imagine why anyone would spend their time watching this asswipe play a Peppa Pig game.

++ Hell in a Cell. With thumbtacks.

Good luck with that one.

Everyone who’s gone through this wants to rehab their image and attempt to show that they’re becoming a better person. He’s a public figure and, yes, his livelihood is dependent on people watching his streams and believing he’s changed. If you had something happen at your job and you had to be publicly contrite, you’d

Oh I see, and yeah definitely in agreement there. They’ll definitely keep chasing it until they (finally) realize that they can’t get that bankroll unless they copy the Fortnite model. Which none of these AAA superhero-backed games seem to be doing.

I don’t know, the only thing I disagree with is that Skyrim wouldn’t have gotten as big if FF13 had been great. I think the audiences are just different. If FF13 had been great I think the only difference would’ve been that Final Fantasy fans would’ve been happier with no net effect to Skyrim at all.

Similar discussion around Yoshinori Ono and Street Fighter. There’s no disputing his contributions to fighting games and Street Fighter 4 really brought about the fighting game renaissance in 2009, but Street Fighter 5 was a bit of a speed bump. Sometimes you just need new ideas and new blood.

One of the things I find interesting about then vs. now in Japanese development is how you used to see developers like Capcom making a million different games in the fighting genre. Darkstalkers, all the Marvel stuff, Street Fighter, Rival Schools, even weirder stuff like Red Earth and I think there were gundam ones

The real question is would conservatives take the vaccine if one became available.

Thanks for the context. I am waaaaay behind on the anime so I wasn’t sure where Cassidy and Butch had ended up. Sounds like an episode I need to watch though.

Guess: The folks chasing the Latias and Latios are ... Team Rocket. But another team whom Giovanni now favors.

Fortnite is a little different. It’s a free to play battle royale. This one is undoubtedly going to cost $69.99 at launch and is co-op meaning it bears more similarities to Avengers or Gotham Knights than Fortnite. That’s what I was referring to when I meant live service, but maybe I’m not using the correct

I wish I got the sense that TikTok was roughly 3 months away from no longer existing.

It’s March. Stop hanging out in November.

I think they wanted to add another gameplay element and more spots on the open world map but just integrated it very clumsily and ignored it if anyone working on the game said, “Umm, so this isn’t great.” Maybe also wanted to add some sort of vague tie-in to Fantastic Beasts.

Maybe they didn’t get the memo that no one wants live service shit in games anymore, if they ever did. The Avengers was a cautionary tale but maybe it was too late to fully pivot.
