There’s a lot of air above my head for the joke to go completely over it.

Maybe I’m misreading, but I don’t think an entire book is based on it. It’s just addressed in more detail in the book.
I mean, if you didn’t think it was cool when you experienced it then there’s not much any of us will say that’s going to change your mind. I don’t know why it needs to be something grander than it was to be a cool addition to a generally rote open world experience.
It’s cute that you think there aren’t legions of pathetic adults who spend their lives on the Internet willing to waste their time trying to curry favor with some stupid influencer.
It really does seem like it was intended to be funny just by virtue of how out there and over the top it is. It reminds me of when Sacha Baron Cohen in character used to tell interviewees to say something outrageous/controversial for the cameras. It’s just that insane.
I was too. Back in the days of Skies of Arcadia, Grandia, Suikoden, and the good Final Fantasies, “JRPG” was a term I would’ve used to describe the absolute best of the RPG genre. The Japanese developers knew how to make a killer RPG and, at least for me, that’s why I would’ve divided them into JRPG and non-JRPG. Even…
“And then we nuked them.” Oooooooofff.
It’s supposed to be hard and confusing
Also Sherri Shepherd and Rachael Ray. Always a rude awakening when the World Cup games would end and I was treated to Rachael Ray’s show. Drew Barrymore has a talk show too, but I love her so I don’t mind that too much.
To be fair, it’s a fad that’s lasted a long time. My friend gifted me the movie Avengers for Christmas one year and that was probably 2012. They’d already been around for a few years before that I think.
nobody with an ounce of integrity collects these for real
I don’t know, it seems like a pretty blatant rip off of Quidditch. And if they changed the broomsticks to, like, gliders or something it would likely lose a lot of the immediate appeal it has to fans who would only pay attention to it because it’s invoking Harry Potter. I’m no attorney, but I can see the argument.
I think for them to have made a Hogwarts school simulator they would’ve had to make a very different game. It is a little weird that you just go to one class randomly at different parts of the year, but it’s ultimately just a backdrop for you to learn new spells and have some classroom interactions. The school is…
I remember when Pokemon exploded back in the late 90's I didn’t quite get it, but my friend’s brother was playing Yellow and my friend and I kind of got into it as a result. We’d rent the VHS tapes of the anime from Blockbuster (!!) and just really got into it. Haven’t really watched much of the anime over the past…
I’m the same as you for the most part, but a lot of people loan their games out to friends. And also as we’re seeing a lot lately, sometimes having a physical copy is the best way to insure that you always have access to a game when a publisher decides to stop supporting it or making it available for download despite…
Like Basic Cast, a spell you learn right away that lets you fire reddish sparks at enemies, interactable objects, and farmable items. It’s a spell you can rely on during intense firefights, as it never runs out or needs to recharge, but it’s also one that does not exist in the world of Harry Potter...
I used to think the same thing, but one of the more recent articles had 800+ responses when I saw it a couple days ago. I’m sure it’s quite a bit more now. Clearly it’s something people still want to talk about and fight about so I kinda don’t blame them for relitigating this shit every single day.
