Pregnancy is a temporary state and accommodations are made. Accommodations are also made for disabled people where possible. I think accommodations / negotiations should be attempted for everyone’s circumstances.

I hear similar about Scandinavian countries - as in warm people, excellent social care, excellent education.... but then I know of someone who (IIRC) married into the family but as a foreigner is not allowed benefits OR a proper job? So what is she to do? There’s a really nasty side to it all :/
