Both the 850i and the CSI had the option for a manual transmission. Even the 840i. With that said, most 850i/840i's came with auto's in them.

The only good place to drive a Miata is off a cliff into the sea. As for Alaska, I'd recommend Clarkson's dually Miata or.....a real pickup truck.
