It’s 10am Christmas day in Australia. I've started my day with mimosas and ham, and I'm just going to continue to eat and drink until I can't move. Dinner with mum and dad last night so that was enough merriment for me this year. We also got rain last night! So that was a nice treat. Happy C-day everyone ❤❤❤

I stopped celebrating Christmas a few years ago and generally I’ve been much happier than I could be if I went back to my hometown but I moved to a new state this year and I have no one here, except my partner, who left a few days ago to go back to his hometown for Christmas. Maya, I feel your pain. My dad passed on Christmas two years ago, and I try to make up for it by being extra busy, so I don’t notice.

I made tamales a couple of times (as a fundraiser for a roller derby team). Them suckers are labor intensive as hell. Now I buy them from somebody and know that $15 for a dozen is pretty damned cheap.

Oh I am right there with ya. Home alone all day today, fresh off the end of a 3 year relationship. Luckily I have my brother’s family to have Christmas with, but I’m still not looking forward to walking back into my empty undecorated apartment. Didn’t touch my decorations this year because I don’t have the energy, and…

Love to you Maya. It’s a rough time of year for so many of, whether we’re surrounded by family or no. I hope volunteering builds a sense of community and friendship.

I'm glad you are getting out and helping others tomorrow. You never know, you yourself might be the Christmas miracle that someone needs. I won't be having a traditional Xmas tomorrow(I'm going to the movies) but at some point in the day, I will raise a glass of sparkling juice in your honor.

Oh how I miss having a tamales lady! Someone take pity on me and bring me some. Xmas is cancelled for me because I have to move. I will be doing laundry and packing tomorrow(with a side order of Star Wars) Many blessings to all!
