I’ve decided to recast New Year’s Eve as Hogmanay, in honour of my part-Scottish background and the fact that I find New Year’s Eve depressing. But Hogmanay is sort of Christmasy, and I can have trifle and shortbread and keep my preferred vibe.

Those are gorgeous cookies. Ditto the pierogi. I’ve been lazy with my pierogi lately and have been getting them from the market. But my in-laws just left, and I made quiche and cannelloni and we had market pierogi and a huge salad, and I made rum cake and my sister-in-law brought cherry pie and my other sister-in-law…

Merry Christmas Maya, and a much better New Year!  You are a light to so  many people, and it sounds like you are spending this week spreading more happiness as you go. You can’t fix everyone’s pain, but you’re doing more than your bit.

I’m in tears over Bruce! So glad he got a home for the holidays! I’ll miss seeing his face on a regular basis, but I’m glad his new human is up for updates.

I’d rather not watch the videos because yuck, so can a braver soul let me know what the videos say to do? I mean, if you aren’t supposed to put Qtips in your ear, why are they even made?

Yay Bruce!!

Fantastic news! I’m so happy for him and thankful he and his human adore each other so much. Mimi is breathing a sigh of relief that I am no longer tempted to find Bruce and ruin her only cat status.

I saw someone get hit by a car yesterday, or the immediate aftermath. It was awful. I thought the car that hit the person and 2 other cars were already stopped to help. Someone was already on the phone with the police so I didn’t stop. I can’t stop seeing it. The story made the news and it was actually quite a bit…

I’m finally done with Christmas shopping.

So guess who all of a sudden came up and spoke to me at the office Christmas meal acting like nothing ever happened, only to claim that they “never had a problem with you [me] talking to me”.

I am mostly decluttering, or at least thinking about what to declutter at the moment. I’m trying hard to decide what to do with physical media such as CDs though; has streaming online has largely rendered them obsolete, or am I justified keeping them?
