I think people are missing the point about the lawsuit. It’s not about people following the advice of a random celebrity they trusted. It’s about them finding out that the random celebrity was a paid shill for the product and not genuinely recommending the product.

Also, and I’m pro-representation, but the implication that we cannot relate to anything that does not directly represent our identities is weird.

Because nerds can’t generate their own cultural capital or social worth, they have to buy it, and so if you knock the products they consume to build their identity, you’re knocking them personally.

Some of the best original programming of any streamer, and it’s going out the window for more Property Brothers. Fuck this.
