I forgot to return a Blu-ray to Redbox once, and it just charged my credit card for the value of the disc (like $25) after the final return deadline and sent me an email telling me I could keep it.

yeah, I would think it comes under “liquidated damages”.

“Embezzlement” seems like an odd charge for failing to return a rented videotape. And I have a hard time understanding why it would be a felony for a tape that would have been worth $60 at most. That’s just weird.

The cars can be fixed, and the drivers are uninjured.  The nostalgia you can taste was worth it.  Nice to see them running and not gathering dust.

Wow, Cellebrite. Way to say absolutely nothing. That’s not a comment, that’s an automated telephone line introduction.

Hey have you thought about relaxing and not being weird about video games online?

I’m beyond impressed with this. It looks like this person understands thoroughly where sonic’s 3d potential lies.

Unionize. Full stop.

If you don’t realize that Kanye West still has enough fans (and the train wreck element too) to make a $30 million documentary worth the investment, what are you doing writing for a pop culture website? This will be hugely popular.

Why bother, Kotaku doesn’t care about gacha games unless there is some woke issues behind them like just now, Kotaku number one simp also forgot to mention how the hashtag is dying because its just fake outrage and its even switching to some #dobetter(maker of this game) hashtag because no one really wants to boycott

Ah yes, I forgot I had to disregard everything I read today *sigh

I really hope the pendulum swings back the other way where developers want to make a compelling finite experience with designed levels instead of...large rectangles of interchangeable gameplay elements

Strange, right? Guacamelee looked way more professional and polished despite coming out quite a long time back

It’s been a long time since I played (and thoroughly enjoyed) Guacamelee! but something about the art style here seems far, far more generic. That crab-demon-boss thing was cute, but I was hoping for a way fresher, more engaging art style, especially for this sort of a game. Ah well.

You either die a Metroidvania developer, or you live long enough to become an action-RPG-with-random-dungeons developer.

My 14 year-old daughter loves this movie

My 14 year-old daughter loves this movie. I watched it with her & she’s subsequently watched it with all her friends. She’s going to hit the ceiling when I tell her about this.

No, but it does sound all too familiar for former servicemen. A friend of mine was in the 88th Airborne and also died by suicide. This is awful.

This doesn’t sound like somebody collapsing as an adult because they were briefly famous as a kid. Lost former child stars don’t usually end up in the 101st Airborne Division. Very sad. R.I.P.

Yeah I’d agree they’re very unprofessional for the setting. I am confused of their choice to label it “psychological hazard” though. Surely there’s something like “proper decorum” they could’ve cited instead. This way they’re just going to draw more attention to it and get a bunch of people to come complain about
