Thanks. Hopefully you find your lost post!

So there are now about 15 threads in reply to this post. If I start a new one, where on the Avatar-chain does it end up? If it ends up at the back, how am I ever supposed to start a discussion that becomes featured, as no-one will see it to reply?

He's directing that, but writing Ant Man. A script has been in the works for Ant Man for a while now, so I imagine it's not taking up too much of his time!

I'm surprised anyone even found this thread!

No problem.. It was damn useful for me to think about it too!

Oh I see... you mean the momentum eigenstates, and the position eigenstates.

TBH I'm not actually sure about what you mean by space wave equation and momentum wave equation.

100 times yes!

Recast #3 with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, get Rian Johnson to direct, and you've got yourself a deal!

Well mathematically, that exclusivity has a bound on it. The normal way that Heisenberg's principle is written mathematically is (uncertainty in x)*(uncertainty in momentum) must be greater than or equal to Planck's Constant.

I think some of the best examples of this come from the Quantum Mechanics-Thermodynamics interface. For example, if you try to compute entropy in Statistical Mechanics (basically mathematically formal Thermo) from first principles, you get a nonsensical answer... until you include the idea of indistinguishable

Haha... very true. In which case, it's all nonsense!

I think most people do... this is the problem with mathematics! And your metaphor works pretty well in this situation..and anything that aids understanding is awesome in my book!

Loosening the limits of quantum mechanics is actually a very well understood process. All you have to do is change the numerical value of Plank's constant in your equations. As for the conclusion... I'm not sure, I haven't finished reading the paper yet!

I am a hardcore physics "wonk" and I 100% agree with you that there's a certain poetry to how the universe is put together. The fact that the equations for General Relativity can be derived from a very small set of facts, and when they are derived they describe not only the motions of the planets but also what motion

Damn!

I don't think the whole season will be in the future universe, will it?

Cool. Thanks! Added to my wish-list.
