My mk4 TDI is at 208k Miles now and it has cost me a total of $1000 in parts since I've had it at 100k. It has only failed to start on me once when the starter motor went kaput.

I love mine, It's slow and it has seen much better days but I still cruise at 85 mph all day long, slide it down the Michigan dirt roads and this afternoon I kept pace with some guy in a mustang trying to weave through OC traffic. That and I have never had a tank dip less than 40mpg and the car has only cost me

I think you're confusing "worst" with "best"

But any car has a removable hardtop.......................

Because Miatas come with hardtops too.

Does this count. Renault Avantime.

Ugh I miss mine... it sacrificed it's life for my dad and me. (rear ended by a uhaul E-450 box van at about 45 mph) Damn safe car too, rear end crumple zone went completely but front and rear doors still opened.

I have to agree, BMW might make the best smaller (is it midsize? compact? whatever.) sedan with the 3 series but nothing will ever rival the E-class. It is the definition of luxury sedan.

Volkswagen Golf/Gti variants.

Yes.

Needs a sprinter van yo.

Not true, I am a Canadian and American citizen and I drive my Michigan plated car in Ontario four days a week. The law is that you must have your vehicle registered in the country in which you are a resident of (must spend the majority of your time/ register your address there)

I did this for about 6 months before I finally forked over the cash for a new linkage and motor. I still hardly use my wipers.

Funny you mentioned this, I passed someone on the right (I know, I know, but it was I-75 through Detroit traffic with everyone doing 80+ in a 55) I was doing about 95 (40 over) and he was going just a bit slower than me. As we were neck and neck I saw a MI Trooper under the bridge and we both stepped on the brakes

Ford is testing both the turbo four and twin turbo six in the Mustang. They are going to use the turbo six for the GT and save the v8 for full performance cars like the BOSS and the Shelby.

So using top gear maths, instead of buying a Dodge Dart or a Ford Focus you should buy an Aston Martin DB9.

Really? I'm just looking forward to explosions.

I've had my 2000 TDI for 3 years and 50k Miles now. It just turned over to 204,000 this week. I paid $4,500 for it and a total of $1,000 in parts (starter, alternator and a few small things) and it's running like a top.

My friends dad let me drive his 94 around our neighborhood when I was 17. He was sitting in the passenger seat laughing at me because I was too afraid to give it any throttle or take it past second gear. I still don't have enough confidence in my driving abilities to bite into this car..... One day though, one day.

Any lemons car that someone keeps on the road. Because racecar.
