I agree with the people who are complaining that Tarkin and Leia looked ‘off’, but I’m overjoyed that the effects people are going for it. That technology is SO close to being ready now, and once it reaches the point of total realism, it will open the door for so many things.

You’ve never come across as the type to get a horse stoned, either.

Everyone I know that wasn’t familiar with Tarkin didn’t know he was a CG character until told after the movie. Everyone knows who Leia is so the uncanny valley is harder to overcome.

The cinema I was in was quite quiet i went of my day off in the week and when I saw red and gold leader I one again said far to to loud “oh my god that’s amazing” got some looks form one or two sat in front of me.

I was so amazed by Leia at the time that I didn’t notice any flaws, but I’m sure I might on second watching. Tarkin was really odd to me but upon watching A New Hope over the weekend I was able to better appreciate just how amazing it was. One thing about Leia is that her make up in Hope is really rosey and dollish…

I love Bowie and he definitely had that otherworldly oddness but he would have been too distracting. It would have felt like stunt casting because he’s never been known as an actor. Plus, Ian was just too iconic.
