Good write up. By rights my wife is due for the next “new” car, I’m hoping I can convince her to look at this in a year or so. Seems like for daily driving it would be great, with the capabilities to do truck stuff on the weekends like we need.

Let’s remember that the purpose of the SUT was to do occasional light duty work. What was the attractive thing to buyers on the H2 SUT was that the back window could go down with the huge sunroof and all of the windows down, it was great for the beach and such. Of the ~100 I sold, no one saw it as a pickup truck.

BMW should be selling MOSTLY fwd cars to their customers, because that’s who their customer base is: Generic sedan drivers in need of fwd and nothing more but an insulated experience. BMW isn’t a beacon for enthusiasts; it’s just making cars for ordinary people. M division can be a different story.

The laypeople are wrong, Tesla shouldn’t have to redefine the word so that people don’t jump to conclusions. Flying a plane on autopilot is the same as this just because people think autopilot means the Pilot presses a button and the plane does all the work doesn’t mean that is how it works.
