For the record, Mercedes-Benz has never made an ugly car. Fact.

The Internet needs more of this. Thank you Jalopnik!

I think they did then, but the OTD price was a far cry from the sticker. I think the $30k models could have been had for $26ish.

Yes, and the Ridgeline is pretty much sold in a one-size fits all way. Yes there are some trim and tech options, but there's one drivetrain and one AWD setup. Not nearly as configurable as your ride or many domestic options.

Perhaps it isn't for you. That's cool, not trying to sell you or anyone on it. It is quirky and the styling isn't to everyone's liking too.

You're digging your hole deeper pal.

Sorry, that wasn't your point. You were using examples that you thought had no badge engineered counterparts.

Soooo glad to see that the Honda Ridgeline didn't make this Jaloplist. In fact if you really wanted to be objective and have an unbiased list of the 10 most useful trucks, I'd put the Ridgeline at the top of the list. It doesn't squarely fit into any category but it is the perfect pickup for people who only drive

You're backpedaling dude. Admit defeat. Surrender. Your OP was "What is the Toyota version of the is or ls?" You were implying that Toyota wasn't badge engineering or cross-brand marketing.

Right?!?! You were calling someone out when you didn't know the answer to the question you were asking. Sorry, take your lumps here buddy.

I can feel the flames now, but I'm so darn tired about this hairdresser's dream car being elevated to the status of a mechanical deity. Nothing personal, but I have experienced these cars and they do not deserve the man love bestowed upon them by Jalops.

Here's a pretty decent looking Baja Bug. Right? Right?

I see what you're trying to do there. The IS is also known as the Toyota Altezza. The LS, well it was known as the Toyota Celsior.

If you're speeding through Waldo and/or Starke, you're just plain silly. There seem to be as many billboards warning of the speed traps as South of the Border uses to advertises their roadside metropolis of yesteryear.

More jobs. More raises. More cars.

I'd say that the period from 1910 through present has been their worst. Other than that, they've been pretty nice.

Having done what you've just done, I will say that the cost to have someone drive a moving truck is easily justified. Particularly if that trip involves the I-95 corridor from Richmond through Philly. Glad you made it.

I'm totally just poking fun. A few hundred extra to a friend to drive the truck for you would have been an even wiser investment.

Something doesn't compute. A guy with a Ferrari did a self-move? Next we'll hear Donald Trump does his own laundry?

USDM? If so, that distinction is incorrect. JDM being Japanese Domestic Market. US would then be a foreign market, right?
