D800 doesn't have "AUTO".

Looks 'shopped.

The XF Sportbake in my possession — the only one in the entire country — is not brown, but it is diesel and it is a wagon and it is basically the most perfect thing I can imagine. I don't even care it doesn't have a manual. You know why auto writers love these things? Because they're fucking awesome and we drive

No, I get it. Nothing missed for me here. Technology is great, don't get me wrong. However, good tech doesn't fix lack of vision, creativity, experience and technique. A production of this level with consumer grade equipment is superb.

I think you're missing the point. It is impressive because of the relatively simple approach to a production that would otherwise be much more elaborate and expensive.

The definition of fun is subjective.

I had thought the Farah, Wood combo would be good. For a third, we need contrast maybe Seinfeld? Adam Corolla? Peter Klutt? Gary Klutt?

It is either unfortunate or very smart that Top Gear allowed their name to be used on these regional variants. On one hand, most of the the copies are bad making the original look much better. The marketer in me thinks that the negative brand association of the stepchild versions isn't worth the cost.

See them all the time. Seems like the target market should have been recent college grads with salaries around $60k.

This is Edsel ugly and all of the lift in the world won't fix that. Fine if Fiat/Chrysler wants to promote radical design, but soiling the Cherokee name in the process was unnecessary. What's next, a Camry coupe branded as a Supra?

I get it and I don't get it, all at the same time.

Love the truck. Hate the price.

The only way this gets an NP is if someone has some sort of emotional tie. This car reminds me of one we had in the family for years. Different color, a bit newer and an auto gear box differentiate the one that I recall, but this one would be a suitable replacement. Can't buy much new Honda for that price. Own a piece

Keep up the great writing. Always enjoyable!

Most people in North Carolina know one speed, 55mph. Regardless of a posted speed limit people drive 55. Local side street? 55. 70mph? 55 in the left lane.

Where is Raleigh-Durham? There is no Raleigh-Durham in North Carolina, you must have the wrong state. Patrick, don't get me wrong. I enjoy reading pretty much everything you write. I don't fault you here, I think that the airport which is called Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) probably adds to the

This is perhaps the world's most perfect vehicle, the only improvements would be the addition of two or three more doors. Please bring the wagon stateside!!!

I understand your point, however I'm not sure that's a fair comparison. In many areas of the country, $3000 buys a whole lot more auto liability and collision damage insurance than what an extended auto warranty offers.

The economics of an extended warranty just don't make sense to me. However, I'm glad they did to you, though I'm unsure what to say here. Do I say, "I hope you get a whole lot of use out of that extended warranty". Or do I say, "Man, I hope you never have to use that extended warranty.
