He’d been aspiring toward that cosplay for a while, it seems.  This is from his pre-PM days.

He didn’t design the clothes himself, but they were designed by a Canadian (not an Indian) designer. One Indian fashion journalist thought he looked like a Bollywood extra from the 90’s.  Per the Times of India piece linked above, fun was had on Twitter.

I’d wanted to post video of SNL’s “Placenta Helper” sketch, which I saw on SNL back the original cast days, and which left an indelible impression upon my then-young mind. But apparently it’s was censored/suppressed and never re-broadcast, and no videos of it are to be found. Oh well. Here are some traces of that…
