What I want from the next Doctor is for him to be played by either Patrick Stewart or Richard Ayoade.

This is my favorite comment in this entire post.

fffffffffffffffffffffff

I have to be honest with you: the only reason I mentioned Mrs. Landingham is because I recently watched West Wing for the first time when I bought it for my husband's birthday in December. Like, 4 days before it became available for streaming on Netflix. Sigh. Still, what a great show!

It seems so from a lot of the comments the OP has made. But then, by golly, she should have included "sci-fi/fantasy" in the title!

OP says no, but OP also chose Tasha Yar over Jadzia Dax, so I'm here to veto her no. Especially when it comes to Ten's regeneration. "I don't want to go." DEM FEELS.

I pretty much do the same. I used to love that show so much, and the last season just murdered it.

Sorry, sorry!

I read that. It seemed to work out very well; you can literally feel how real that shock is to them oozing through the TV set when you watch that scene.

Dude, don't even get me started on the series finale of Roseanne.

West Wing is totally sci-fi. You can tell by the peace resolution between Israel and Palestine, because only wacky science or aliens could be responsible for that.

Henry Blake from M*A*S*H. I am way younger than this show, but I love it so much, and when I finally saw that episode for the first time as an adult.. UGH! Right in the feels!

I don't think the Doctor necessarily needs to be completely absent. Just not the center of attention.

A few people laughed during key scene that's basically beat for beat the same as WoK, and the guy next to me was like, "Why is this funny?" He is the one of three people represented by your Venn diagram.

Hardcore fan. Highly disappointed by this film.

This is basically how I feel. I've never really been a Davies fan, but I'm liking Moffat's Doctor less and less as time goes on.

*slowclap*

I think Doctor Who works better when the Doctor isn't the protagonist. I mean, yes, he's in the title and he's the one who in the end is clever enough to save everybody; but I think that the best episodes are those where they go to new times or places and the companions are just weirded the fuck out and trying to cope

"Also, sorry for using an T'Pol/Enterprise pic, but I'm sick of seeing Spock."

Absolutely. Hypervelocity is one of my all-time favorite Iron Man stories.
