I find this position to be a tad bit hypocritical coming from a car enthusiast perspective. Enthusiasts cars, by and large use more gas than other similar cars, typically because they are higher powered, shorter geared, etc.

Should we be mad at ourselves for using more gas than non-enthusiasts? Are we excluded for

Maybe the person just had a short torso...

I had a 1990 Celica GT Liftback as my first car, I always wished it was one of these, then again, if it was one of these, I may not have made it to adulthood.

Say what now?! You can’t just replace the gear?

In Fairness, Justin DID bring it up:

Yeah, It is definitely a versatile machine, but if you are used to modern comforts, it offers none. Mine came with inflatable lumbar supports that the previous owner installed, but they were broken. My base model car has crank windows, the power steering has been deleted, manual locks, manual top, the stereo sucks but

Agree, 100%, I own a 95 miata and I would feel like a schmuck showing up at a Radwood event in it.

Please stick around, women writers of Jalopnik, you provide unique and important perspectives and we appreciate you.

We could make it more safe, more convenient and less time consuming but you already know that.

And now there is a better way, so we should utilize it.

I mean, I do agree that we could do a better job of interfacing the various modes of transport in cities. In Sacramento, we have sidewalks and roads like normal, but also light rail trains that run at ground level and sometimes on city streets and a patchy network of bike lanes that have recently added some funky

I rarely honk, and when I hear other people honk, I usually can’t figure out why. In New York though, it seems like honking is used for everything.

As a person who is more often a pedestrian than a driver, I don’t know why you would get crucified for saying that. It’s true, pedestrians need to ensure their own safety, I get reminded of it nearly every day. But I will say, a driver looking at their smartphone (another thing I see everyday) is magnitudes more

Apology accepted.

Your assertion that I said cities weren’t designed around cars is another logical leap on your part.

Do you always take such big leaps or are your practicing for the Olympics?

Hard to get killed by cars that are barely moving...

I feel like special exception is necessary in New York, Honking is just letting people know “Yeah, I am gonna run that orange light so don’t step off the curb”

Walking, biking, public transit are all viable options for getting around a city, especially New York.

Yeah, but they might be specifically looking for articles about their nefarious deeds.
