I don’t think I saw any mention of the fact that this vehicle will be sold in Central and South America as well as here in North America.

While this could very well be a scenario where the MINI was hidden the whole time, I have a general question about the drivers of large trucks: is there an informal hierarchy among them, like is a 50' interstate trailer hauler considered higher up the ladder than a dump truck driver? I ask because IME, tractor trailer…
Used Porsche Cayenne (last generation) can be had for the 30k range. I’ve considered it a few times myself - roomy, decent to drive, and capable off road. The Lexus is another great choice.
I think you’re much more likely to get injured mountain biking, but more likely to get dead road biking.
I love the Bollinger design. Of course I grew up riding around in my dad’s Chevy square body C20 and then owned several XJ Cherokees. I guess I have a type, and that it is ‘rectangular’.
Yeah, I think it comes down to ads setting expectations that are not really the intended use (or maybe one-time use if you go hard enough).
Couldn’t agree more. We have friends with a Subaru and every time we go camping I end up hauling some of their stuff home at the end of the weekend. Everything fits, but just barely and I don’t have the patience to watch them play jenga so I grab some stuff and throw it in my truck.
100% agree. I drive an F150 in large part because it has ground clearance and I can fit all our camping stuff in it. Living in Montana you really appreciate being able to navigate a dirt road that turns into an off road course without warning.

I hate asking to borrow people’s trucks and the near rental place is 45min away. I hope the new Ford Maverick brings back the small practical truck, cause there are few people who…
This smells like a trap for another slide show. Can we trust you Rory?
Stick an extra battery in the trailer.
I was interested to hear that the suggestions were...but seeing that they are presented as a slideshow, now I am not.

Did really have to be a slide show? NO the heck it didn’t. Just freaking click machine. Jeez
You got it wrong, Jalopnik is a penis enthusiast site that occasionally talks about cars.
I agree that the Niro PHEV is excellent. However the reader explicitly said she does not want a plug in due to lack of charging with street parking and I don't think you can find a Niro PHEV under 15k.
Well done to both of you! I have a 4x4 and there are definitely some trails where i need it because if i drove my Subaru it would be a smoking pile of rubble but youre right, normal vehicles can go to lots of places.
I maintain that for 99.9% of “offroading” people do, they could use literally any vehicle.
