Why in the world would they do that outside of a temporary thing??? Could they really have been getting paid that well or were they just in government?

It was a poorly executed joke off of Wile_E’s joke about the little knife, corkscrew, and tweezers. Hence, “Swiss Army” passport...
I’m sorry, I meant to ask a different question. That was really poorly phrased by me but I meant to ask why is anything over 100 octane leaded. Thank you for the response though!
Those are only handed out to members of their military, if I remember correctly. It might exclude the air division though so it’s probably just the Swiss Army...
I have a flip phone and know the keys by heart to get to the picture “app” so I will sometimes but I take a few so I can look at them when I’m stopped and delete the ones that are blurry (basically all of them). That way, I don’t have to look at the screen :)
Didn’t know this. Do you happen to know why?
2011 GTI and I peak around 24-25 psi on stock internals. I’ve been running that for close to 25k miles and the engine’s got over 116,000 miles now. It’s been fine so I don’t consider 17 psi super high. For a stock car, that would be relatively high though, from what I’ve seen. Mine ran around 11 psi stock.
Always bothers me. I’m not one to really tell people what to enjoy (some people do need an SUV or at least want it for their reasons so who are we to tell them they can’t? It’s not like sports cars make any more sense...) BUT I do find it really stupid when you buy a huge SUV for space... and everything’s angled in a…
Holy crap... that’s probably why it felt so fast then XD that’s insane out of a little 1.8!!
Completely agree. My dad was generous enough (and honestly, I was fortunate enough) to gift me my first car and he says that when he went to look for a car, he was in his work clothes (electrical contractor, typically in dirty blue jeans and a not-so-white t-shirt). He first stopped at the Nissan dealership because he…
Awesome breakdown! Thanks!!!
A stage 1 APR tune for the 1.8T (Gen 3) is pretty crazy. My brother did it in his ‘15 Jetta and it definitely feels faster than my GTI was stock. I think it pushed it closer to 240 lb-ft of torque...
I tend to agree but the only thing that scares me about this method vs. simply better/outside-the-box engineering is perhaps a part had some longer longevity to it originally because it was “overbuilt” to handle the stresses and instead it was cheapened to simply meet the needs rather than surpass them. Do you believe…
I feel like that’s a reasonable assessment. I don’t know about the interior portion as I’m a big VW fan and every low-end (rental spec, in other words) Jetta I’ve ever been in is absolutely atrocious and would make me despise the car. The more nicely-appointed Jetta (i.e. my wife’s SEL) are some of my favorite…
You are awesome. That is all.
I didn’t know that! Thank you for informing me. I guess snow in Texas just sounds weird. Haha
I also never realized that flooding would damage roads that badly... I just figured ice would be way worse for it and that water would just dry up...
That’s exactly how I felt! Even when it does start to pull, it’s nothing compared to even a base Golf or Jetta. It was really surprising. I drove the Si in the rain and it felt so unstable, I actually got scared. It wasn’t just me, either. My brother and dad felt the same way without me saying anything.
I get that. I…
I’m getting married on the 15th but a few buddies and I are heading up on the 22nd so you’ll see us there!!
They usually do give you “above book value” but that’s always basing it off of a “fair” condition which is as low as you can get. In other words, if your car is perfectly fine and looks at least decent without rust everywhere then you’re probably still getting screwed but you’ll feel like it’s a good deal. I would…
I own a mk6 GTI and a buddy of mine has been considering one for his next car to replace an MR2. For that reason alone, I know a little of the market in northeast US (not sure where you are). My only piece of advice is if it is anything like it is up this way, I would not buy a $9k mk6 GTI... not worth the condition…
