I think you should shoot for a mk4 2.0 VW Jetta/Golf or a mk5 2.5 Jetta/Rabbit. I think you should be able to pick up a slight project and for the most part, they’re pretty reliable. It’s not a hateful car and I think you’d even enjoy it :)

I hope our people are treating you well and that you're enjoying our beautiful country! Be safe :)

As a Chilean that is excited about an upcoming trip to Torres del Paine and Tierra del Fuego, thank you for sharing this! That’s awesome and I never knew about these! Such a cool find. I hope our people are treating you well and that you're enjoying our beautiful country! Be safe :)

That may just be one of the perks of owning a Saab, Alfa, and LR at the same time, you daring masochist, you.

I bet you it's someone who's worked with Kia for at least 15 years. Back then, these were the only positive things you could have said about a Kia. "All doors open to aid in car access. Windows roll down (optional)."

You’re not wrong. I like VWs as a whole and I’m glad they’ve more or less fixed the massive reliability issues but I miss just how much better the Passat, Beetle, or Jetta used to be as a driving package. I own a mk4 Jetta and I bought my wife a mk6 Jetta SEL. While the mk6 is objectively a much better car, you can

I have a mk6 GTI and bought a VR6 mk4 Jetta a while back. Sold it and regretted it so much that I bought a 2.0 mk4 just to have another one in my life. It’s a slow turd (I say that lovingly) compared to the mk6 but I’m not getting rid of it. It just has a certain charm to it.

Funny enough, the shape of the Prius is actually about as efficient as we can make at the time. It’s weird because you’d think all the creases kind of ruin aerodynamics but they’re placed in the right places to help the flow of air. It’s weird and I can’t remember where I read it but the newest one is an incredibly

To be fair, for towing purposes, the only reason it matters is because a RWD can basically be towed like a FWD if you turn it around but an AWD needs to be fully on a flatbed. That may explain why those were the only two options although you might still be right!

This is exactly what I find ridiculous about these sentiments. We get it, manual means you’re “a man” but seriously, sometimes stupid people are just going to stupid. That doesn’t mean advanced cruise control is bad, it just means that person is a bad driver. Automatics are nice in traffic. Are they perfect? No, but

100%. Only ones really still sticking to that style nowadays that I can think of off the top of my head are Volkswagen, Audi, Kia (of all brands!), and to some extent BMW. I do think Hondas seem to be coming back to their roots and it’s really exciting! I would love for them to put out products like they did in the

You’ve got bad opinions.

Glad I’m not the only one that feels this way. What used to be stupid funny is now just... Stupid. Kind of makes me sad.

I never owned a mk5 Jetta but I know for sure none of the mk4 Jettas or the mk6 Jettas I’ve owned have had rear face vents... My mk6 GTI does though. Perhaps you’re thinking of the Golf? Either way, I agree with you. The face vents are a nice touch for passengers on a hot/cold day.

I wish more people spoke like you. Seriously. Conversations would be so much less aggressive and we might actually get somewhere in debates/disagreements.

Technically correct is the best kind of correct :)

I hate showing up before $kay does...

They’re in Colorado, not Oregon, so I think they have a shot.

Manhattan’s northeast, bro.

That and the 1.8T (new one) is actually pretty reliable. I haven’t had any actual (ice will sometimes lodge itself in the engine bay vent flaps and cause a CEL until it’s cleaned out but nothing serious. It may drop a MPG with them stuck open) issues with the two separate I’ve bought/helped buy. There are around 65k
