This sums up 80% of the tasks I do at home, in the garage, and at work.  Well done.

You’ve convinced me. All those other countries have it wrong and the US model is the way to go. If any of those countries are making changes to their entitlement programs that’s clear evidence that their entire system of governance is flawed and should be scrapped for the US model. But we still have a ways to go to

I’m sure Sweden will be fine. Actual adults live there. One day you may realize that other countries have developed societies that function better than ours in some cases and that it’s possible to learn from their successes. Or you can continue to listen to millionaires tell you that the wealthy need tax cuts,

Yes, we’ll descend into the violent wasteland that is Sweden, or Germany, or Australia, or Canada, or.....

It can be frustrating to watch the U.S. piss away it’s wealth and human capital while also claiming, “there’s just no better system out there” when many many other countries have already implemented better systems for decades. But I’ll continue to work towards making the US a better place in the hopes that my kids

That was some solid work by 27 to stand there and stare at his teammate the whole time.

Well, we agree on one point. The U.S. probably can’t accomplish what Sweden, and many other countries, are able to. We lack the maturity, work ethic and social consciousness. Our greed and rugged individualism can only get us so far.

Their free healthcare, free college, subsidized preschools, a year of maternal and paternal leave etc, must have confused me into believing they are a social democracy in which the state intervenes to ensure their citizens retain a high quality of life.  As I said there is a spectrum and the US has chosen poorly.

My year in Sweden was amazing and I’d be happy to move there.  There are plenty of spots along the spectrum that are better than the place the US has chosen.

Or for my five year old, “Fair doesn’t mean equal.”

I wasn’t sure about karma until I read the email of the week. Anyone who needs to “run downstairs for bottled water” when thirsty, and has handfuls of empty bottles lying around their bed, deserves to drink toenail water.

Yeah, he should do something really effective like post a comment on Kinja instead.

Especially the one above painted in a Buick palette.

The only redeeming thing Joe has ever done is serve as the target for a hall of fame tweet from AOC. I STILL laugh about this.

I don’t think the author wants to ban automation. They are just noting that it isn’t inevitable in a pure sense. Instead, as you also note, the inevitability stems from the capital holders desire to become more profitable. In that case the solution is to take some of that newly created profit back (via a robot tax?)

I’m in camp “don’t” for a number of reasons but doing it at a restaurant on Valentines Day is particularly dangerous. What if someone else does it first? Then you’re waiting a respectful amount of time to do your own (now diminished) reveal when suddenly ANOTHER person proposes! God, how many people are sitting on

These people need a tax cut. Most of them don’t even own a dozen RRs yet.

You don’t even need a pro chef, you can just buy it at the grocery store.

Yeah, the authors take is kinda stupid. There is clearly a difference between watching Netflix hosted by AWS and watching Prime Video. Or buying merchandise on a website hosted by AWS versus buying directly from Amazon. It’s like someone saying, “Well I was going to give up sugar but both doughnuts and carrots have

Is it normal for a VP to babysit a president like this? It sees like Pence is in every single meeting/photo/event with Trump. I didn’t pay close attention during Obama but Idon’t remember seeing Biden this often. Maybe Pence is his handler?
