Yeah my “effortless hairstyle in under a minute” is “grab scrunchie and put in sloppy bun”.

I’m “Botched By Rubella” but I guess that’s technically “Nature” so

I don’t particularly like Jard Leto as an actor, but I love that he’s wearing these crazy outfits. Men’s clothing is often so boring. It’s like Jaden Smith; the kid is annoying online, but I love that he doesn’t think it’s a big deal to wear a dress out.

I am glad I didn’t see it in 3D, because some of those shots gave me vertigo as it was.

Seven: I sobbed every time they talked about Spock-Prime. Quinto has grown into that character beautifully.

I was presuming he takes on the appearance of whatever life-form he’s draining. He’s all head-ridges when they first see him, then he drains two human Enterprise crew in front of Uhura and his ridges smooth out noticeably.

You can sometimes catch them indoors without moving, depending on where you live. I’m in uber-suburbia and I’ve caught probably 30 Evees just from my sofa.

Yeah it’s a “waiting in line at the pharmacy” or “killing time until the DMV calls my number” sort of thing. And maybe an evening walk to the park if I’m not too tired.

Yeah unless you live in a huge city with 14 pokestops per block what would you even be doing? There’s not that much gameplay in the game!

If the world were a logical place, men would ride sidesaddle. - Rita Mae Brown

I just made one of those Simplicity “Amazing Fit” patterns, where they have 1" seam allowances in “key areas” so you can more easily adjust it to fit you. I sewed a straight 14 with no alterations and it fit perfectly the first time. I’m laughing that the pattern designed to be altered needed zero adjustment. And it

I find them variable. Sometimes the directions are kind of sparse and there’s not an illustration for a lot of the steps. I just made a knit Burda dress that I’m not super-pleased with the design of, but I’ve made a few other things that came out fine.

No, I can get Burda patterns here in Washington state. I think Simplicity actually imports them; if you look on Simplicity’s website you can see BurdaStyle patterns.

I ordered a dress form that was smaller than I am and padded it out. Put an old bra that still fits on there to get the bustline right, and then wrap some strips of quilt batting/muslin around anything that’s smaller than your measurements.

I like working from patterns because I have pretty much ... ZERO spatial awareness. I know what a bodice or a sleeve should look like because I’ve been sewing for decades, but if I want to try anything new I need a pattern because I am incapable of visualizing what the flat shape needs to be to get the right 3D shape.

Man I have been sewing for about 30 years and I still can’t do crotches without a diagram.

Yeah, guys kind of get screwed when it comes to sewing. Pattern books have 10x more women’s stuff than men’s. It’s still a super-gendered hobby, although getting less so with cosplay being such a trend.

They have a specific cosplay-centric site as well. I think you might have to order some of these patterns directly from them; I can’t remember seeing them in Joann’s pattern books http://cosplay.mccall.com/

“Sacrificial BDSM child rape scene”. To be totally accurate. It made me really wonder about Card.
