Mine always looks like it’s been ombre’d naturally: dark roots and strawberry blonde at the ends. And I’m going gray, which I wouldn’t mind if it wasn’t graying in such a weird pattern (temples are fine, big chunks in the back is weird.) That starting-to-gray stage just makes it look vaguely dirty.

It’s only way out there because it’s hard to do if someone’s not really familiar with Shakespeare. I started using Hamlet with my oldest classes as a way to teach about character motivation. I’m basically summarizing the play in modern slang. Then the younger kids wanted to know why they weren’t getting “Shakespeare

They did find what is possibly the world’s most creepy/cute child to play Jennifer Greggson. That kid was the best actor in the whole thing. (And my name is Jennifer, so I was getting really weirded out by all the little kids chanting “Jeeeennnniiifeeeerrrr” all the time)

This is like the best part of the story!

I’m gonna get Invisalign at 40-something, but I have to have my wisdom teeth out first and I don’t wanna do it. We need a support group or something.

This is a WAY out there suggestion, but when I was teaching drama I discovered that my kids LOVED Shakespeare if you tell it in modern language. If you’re really familiar with his work, they especially like the tragedies.

oooh myyyy gooooooddd i need one or two or seven

HO HO HO ... ya hoes. ;)

The belt is Modcloth! It’s like a stretchy metal. The dress had an obvious waist seam so I tried it with the belt.

It’s missing one nonessential piece, so it was cheaper than the “100% like new” ones, but the seller promised the tower works and that’s really all I care about. You can buy the pieces much more easily than you can get a working tower.

It’s my anniversary, so we went out for dinner. They messed up our drink order 3 times, so they comped all our drinks. Free booze is best booze!

It’s supposed to look like the shiny rainbow you get on an oily puddle. It’s also called “duck feather”. It’s great for dark hair because you don’t have to bleach much!

It took a loooong time. I am still losing some blue when I shampoo but she really packed the color on there so it’s still bright.

I started making costumes when I was 15 or 16. Costumes are easy, because you can slap stuff together any old way and you’re only going to wear them a few times. I’ve only recently started making actual serious clothes. It takes a lot more attention to make clothes to wear in public in the daytime and not look like

That particular bookshelf is mostly roleplaying books. 2 or 3 editions of D&D, 7th Sea, various World of Darkness books, L5R, and various one-off RPGs.

Well, she’d never done it before and my stylist is a bit of a perfectionist. I think it was close to 5 hours. Bleaching, streaking, and then the darker color because my hair fades to strawberry blonde at the ends and is also going gray weirdly.

Ahahahaha I love this one!

Thank you! I don’t sew with knits very often, actually. I should do it more often because I like the results. It’s just harder to pick out mistakes.

The back was a little annoying because I have kind of wide shoulders. I have a dress form, but her shoulders are narrower. So fitting things involves a little guesswork; there’s not a lot of ways to adjust a pattern for it. So I had a bit of trouble getting it to drape because a) linebacker shoulders, and b) velvet
