If there is no dimness value, there is no brightness value. There is only the measurement of light. The quantity of this measurement in comparison to another measurement of light would determine whether one uses “bright” or “dim”. Thus, using “1000 x brighter” is no different than “1000 x dimmer”, apart from which

You’re assuming brightness is the baseline, though, when clearly dimness is. Would you agree that “brighter” means “less dim”? See? You’re making your own rules up arbitrarily.

Not really. That would be like saying the fox is 1000 times slower than the airplane is not the same as saying the airplane is 1000 times faster than the fox.

It was very noticeable to me, but I also tend to focus on character’s mouths when they’re talking, and it was the lip movements that gave it away for me.

But he’s boosting them by giving them new abilities in battle, isn’t he?

Man of Steel’s initial trailer had me impressed. I loved it the first time I saw it in theaters. Then I saw it in theaters a second time, and like 300 before it, found myself hating a lot of plot decisions, illogical character choices, easily avoidable deaths, a complete lack of hope, awe, wonder, or charm, felt

And don’t forget that Marvel has been planning like ten-fifteen movies ahead, so they’re thinking ahead and planning long term. This also means that unlike many other studios, Marvel’s been working on storybeats for these movies far before any announcements are made. Things change as they get fleshed out and made

I like Tom Celica.

Spot on. Halo 5's story was terrible, but the multiplayer is easily the series’ best.

I’m not sure what his explanation is supposed to make okay. If anything it proves he was aware of the risks but for some reason thought it was more important that the dogs and bears be friends than he keep the dog safe. And if he’s used to getting fed every day, of course they’ll look for something that looks like

Not in that instance. Snyder’s reliance on Green Screen is not well hidden. It looks as organic as 300.

I think you missed what he was saying. It didn’t feel like a physical space. It’s all so computerized that it lacks some hard to detect sense of authenticity.

To me it looks like it’s trying to replicate the look of the original gameboy to fit the form of the DS.

Yeah. Probably reactionary to a specific criticism people had with Smith’s era. He’s still too grandiose. The Doctor shouldn’t always be the most important being in the universe. I want him to just be a good problem solver again.

Oh I know it was. Later Tenant episodes feel like excuses for him to give a self important monologue or speech. Super overly theatrical moments. But in the early Tenant stuff there was enough of classic Who in the DNA. I wish we could’ve seen Eccleston’a Doctor with the production quality of recent Who.

BvS and Suicide Squad are some of the worst blockbusters I’ve seen from a filmmaking point of view. They may have moments some people like, but they’re horribly assembled. The new Independence Day, which was incredibly forgettable, was a stronger and more cohesive film than either of those movies, even though it

I don’t see it that way at all. If anything, Moffat’s run has seen “warmth”, “love”, or “sentimentality” actually solve the episode’s conflict and save the day. The WWII dalek episode comes to mind.

So to speak.

If you think anything about Suicide Squad was polished or cohesive, you need to see more movies.

Suicide Squad got so many elementary basics of filmmaking wrong that any remotely competent movie, including the awful transformers movies, would never struggle with. I don’t like those films, but at least they tell a story that for the most part makes sense.
