I think the difference is just that modern games want to keep you interested by doing a variety of things, so side quests pop up to replace traditional grinding. It’s a great game. The flaws are there though. Keep doing side quests and enjoy them. I’m in the middle of chapter 13 right now and it’s the only part of the game I’ve found underwhelming.

It’s single player if you somehow don’t consider it multiplayer when you go for a walk with friends and family, hitting pokestops, catching Pokémon, and battling or leveling up gyms together. Jim Carrey was wasted in the role. He could’ve been a great Joker without deviating too much from his Riddler performance. His character was a strange adaptation of the comic character.
