Isn’t Linda McMahon in the Cabinet somewhere, too?
Return of the Return of Bruno
It makes sense if you consider that anyone playing for/coaching for the Skins is clearly a masochist.
The only solution I can see is that Jerry Jones himself should coach the Cowboys. It is the endgame they’ve been building to since 1989, and I’m honestly a little surprised that it hasn’t happened already.
The Ninth Configuration is one of those movies I get a great deal of pleasure introducing to people, and Scott Wilson is so, so good in it. He also has a fun, small role in Blatty’s follow-up, The Exorcist III. He could do both pathos and comedy like few other actors, and I’ll be sad to know he won’t be popping up…
I kinda liked Venom early on, but I always thought he was better as a concept than an actual character. Even Brock’s original motivation was pretty thin — “I hate you, Spider-Man, because your actions revealed that I’m actually a shitty journalist!” I guess you could chalk it up to the suit amplifying his grievance…
Seconded. Carnage only exists because Venom got popular enough to become an “anti-hero” and it was the ‘90s, so the villanous nü-Venom had to be X-TREME.
Yeah, it was definitely a case of too many cooks — Raimi wanted to do Sandman, and also either wanted to/felt compelled to tie up the Harry story, and the studio wanted Venom. It’s definitely a movie that could’ve been perfect for “film one giant movie and split it into two parts.” It needed more room to breathe.
On top of this, the fact that he was flying back and forth between court proceedings and games on the same day was added to his legend as a measure of his toughness.
Topher Grace gets a lot of shit, but I always thought Raimi’s clear disinterest in Venom was the actual issue — the “Peter but with no moral compass” take on Brock that Grace delivers is valid and interesting, and I liked that the movie had his normal voice coming out of Venom rather than a silly monster voice, which…
I spent a significant portion of my 20s drinking to excess in bars while also being the kind of asshole who would try to provoke people for no good reason. Not once did any of those asinine bar escapades escalate beyond some shouting. Hell, I probably deserved to get punched in a lot of cases and it still never…
Soooo... “successful video game series sticks to formula that continues to work,” then?
The de facto planning committee of my 10-year reunion received so few RSVPs that they cancelled it and from what I hear it just became 10 or so people meeting for drinks. Ironically, had that been the plan all along, I probably would’ve considered it.
Drew knows this, he just likes to fuck with Steelers fans.
yeah but he’ll be able to team up with jimmy butler and lose in 5 in the second round to the lakers or rockets so that’s p cool, right?
I mean, there has to be some kind of middle ground here, right? Golden State is fun, but now nearly all of basketball has come down to “drive and kick out for a three” and I kinda hate that now.
Pirates have the same issue — which isn’t to suggest that Pittsburgh is an enormous market, but Nutting is one of the richest owners but apparently his money turns into desiccated moths if someone even mentions paying a talented player his worth.
Remember that one year that Josh McCown was really good for the Bears?
“Guns and Neuroses” is one of my favorites -- just a wonderful wrap up to Frasier and Lilith. I rewatch it regularly.
