Defense does matter. But what also matters is dragging a shit-ass team to the playoffs in the west on the back of a season-long triple double. Russ is the MVP.

Thanks for the list. I want to point out, too, that Walter Mosley, while a hell of a thriller writer, also writes some very thoughtful non-fiction, as well, and I don’t think he gets the credit he deserves as a thinker. Check out Twelve Steps Toward Political Revelation and Folding the Red into the Black, among others.

“All that people care about is the look. 70% of what people react to is the look. 20% is how you sound, 10% is what you say. So if you look and sound good - Big mouth. The eyes. Use the hand. And keep confirming and denying things. Everyone will go wild!”
THANK YOU. I’ve been saying this for months to the people in my circle who’ve pushed the “give him a chance” line: He’s been this way the entire 40+ years he’s been in the public eye, now he’s 70 and unlikely to experience a sudden shift in temperament, and—furthermore—ACTING THE WAY HE HAS FOR THOSE 40 YEARS JUST WON…
Nah. If I’m going to drop $200 on a pair of jeans, they better have some sort of narcotic effect, not simply look slimmer just so I can fit into this fleeting moment of time in fashion.

Ryan Adams seems like the kind of guy who starts acting like a rock star without actually bothering to become one first.
I think Phil is an excellent coach, but where he excels is in cutting through the egos that get in the way sometimes with great players. He’s the guy you bring in when you have a lot of talent that just won’t mesh. It’s not a coincidence that those Chicago and LA teams really began to break through when he took the…
This was my pick, too (sorry to have beaten you ;). My only problem now is that I can’t find them in the Tom’s Black color anymore, and that was my favorite.

What’s funny is that when I started wearing 514s just a few years back, they were billed “slim straight,” and 513 was “slim.” The fit hasn’t changed at all, but now 514 is just “straight,” and 513 is “slim straight.” Part of me resents no longer being considered slim, haha.

As a fellow pedant, I am going to star your comment and hang my head in shame.
He already got that make-up Oscar for that cowboy singer movie he made that no one saw. This is just the extra icing, because the real caché is in being a MULTIPLE ACADEMY AWARD winner these days. Otherwise you’re just Lou Gossett Jr.
haha wow okay bud
Seeing Kramer vs Kramer on a list next to The Godfather made me wince.
I’ve always liked Jurassic Park 3. Fun, short little monster movie with no big pretensions and a lot of Sam Neill—pretty much the opposite of The Lost World.
I like Jessa Crispin, and I like a lot of what she has to say.
I hate you. +1
My first thought was that Tom Thibodeau must definitely be a sadist, right? Hasn’t he done enough to the poor bastard?
