I guess we’ll agree to disagree.  Our perspectives are obviously quite different on these bikes.

I’m an unabashed Toyota fan.

I want to love this.

I don’t.

Maybe you also need to hop on one and give it a go before making a call on it.

Or your driveway is a 5 mile long 45mph road... that gets a pass.

The point is, if you don’t know how good these little bikes are due to overt lack of experience, it’s pretty damning to your enthusiast cred to make such a poorly informed

This is the proper enthusiast take.

And you claim to be an enthusiast. Bah. You’re an uneducated riding elitist. Vintage Vespas are awesome to ride, even for “motorcycle guys”. You should give one a shot sometime... unless you can actually ride a bicycle 60+ mph.

With a little work vintage Vespas do 60 without breaking a sweat.

Why haven’t you yet?

The Van Van is a fun little urban curb jumper, or a beach town bike... but it’s too expensive for what it is (RE: all old) unfortunately.

Nicola Dutto is unbelievably bad ass. I know it’s an obvious statement, but I think it needs to be said nonetheless.

I grew up on that lake. There are parts that are so deep they’ve yet to be charted.

There’s a Navy deep water sonar testing barge anchored in the middle as well.

It’s deep. And cold.

I’ve got a warmed over Golf TDI.

Holy crap, I totally forgot that the ferry came back! I do like the Bolts. I’mma do that.  Those games are such a good time.

Dude, that’s no joke. Driving over that bridge may as well be the same as crossing international waters as far as I’m concerned. Something really worthwhile has got to be going on in Tampa to get me over the HF.

I’m lucky that the Trop is just a 5 minute Uber ride away.

This is exactly what happens.

This isn’t really the reason.  It’s A reason, but it isn’t THE reason.

You aren’t wrong. We locals like the Trop experience generally, it’s a dump, but it’s our dump and the staff works hard with what they’ve got.

I live here in St. Pete, and I’m an actual living breathing Rays fan... who makes it to like 2 games a year. Honestly, while I love baseball, there’s just too much else to do here which is equally enjoyable and costs less than an evening at the park to attend any more games per season.

Secondly, because attendance is

“a base Insight is pretty expensive to own and operate as far as brand-new cars go”

Been to China several times. Story checks out. This is exactly how I would expect an event like this to be organized.
