That’s... an Avalanche.
That’s... an Avalanche.
Maybe I’m fancy, but to me that LC is a beater and you are a crazy person.
I mean God bless ya’, but your love of rust is gonna kill you if someone slides through a stop sign and into that Valiant, which by the looks of things is more being held together by paint and wishful thinking than anything actually structural.
I taught my 16yr old daughter to drive stick, and I’ll offer a trick that worked for her:
Cover the tach and lean to feel and hear the car instead of concentrating on doing a thing at a certain RPM. Unless you’re bumping redline in AutoX or something, for daily use you don’t need the tach anyway and you’re going to be…
My wife drives a 2016 6 GT and I can confirm that it’s a really nice lighting detail. In person it’s subtle, but striking when you notice it.
Really, her 2016 remains just an obnoxiously good looking car.
GMT800 is extremely tough to perish. I had a 02 Burb 2500 8.1 which was just tough as hell and I let go at 300k. Just got bored with it, ran perfect. I regret that.
850 T5-R in Yellow is a very solid choice.
X-REAS just works for on road. LTD’s are way better than people give them credit for; they road trip like a boss and can still do trails because 4Runner.
5th Gen 4R hitches are the most indestructible thing on what is generally an indestructible vehicle. It’s comical how strong they are.
I disregard the automatic requirement. Want fun on the cheap? Get something with a stick. Manuals make even the most mundane vehicles 300% more funner. True statistic.
I still go back and play on the regular. Good call.
So much this.
I used to. Like I used to go hands to face at the thought of another rusty jeep article. However, I’ve since gotten over that and now I’m just along for the ride, even though my distaste with other authors got me perma-greyed. David really offers some interesting insight that I’ve come to appreciate.
I come back every…
I would lay money that the LC will be fine. It’s barely broken in. They’re just in a different league than anything else.
This seems par for the course for Mr. Brownell.
Write poorly and then get super snarky and defensive about it.
Its a sub 300k mile 100 series LC. What could go wrong? Probably nothing. It's barely broken in.
Nothing in this market is “reasonably affordable” brand new.
Also, Yamaha Super T will probably spank it for even less $$$.
Them’s the breaks.
I was just going to ask for the Culver’s compairo.
Couldn’t have said it any better.
All I want is a Sambar Dump. I will have one.
Italjet has come and gone and sort of come back, but this newest dragster never actually got off the ground unfortunately... which is a bummer.
However, if you like the looks of the new Dragster, check out the KYMCO F9, which if we’re lucky has a chance of coming stateside.
