Suddenly?

The silver plastic is the worst.

Some people really appreciate a simpler interior. Those people (like myself), own 4Runners. Every time I jump into a car with a more “modern” interioir, I spend too much effort trying to figure out all the superfluous bullshit.

Also, all that rough and tough reliability too.

I’m getting old I guess.

This cannot be starred enough.

Gotta learn your angles to get in and out of your driveway.

Yep, they are just adventure wagons. Will carry you anywhere on tarmac, and then just as happily keep on going when the pavement ends.

They had (for the time) and extremely functional and innovative interior. They were quite good at moving people and their stuff around in a small package for not a lot of cash.

I’m just happy you put the effort into getting your hands on some Hylomar.

Hey now, you can’t add qualifiers this late in the game.

I miss my 05 Leggy GT wagon. Those were the days of fun Subaru indeed. Best grocery getter ever.

NG had literally just released Moon Man when I was leaving WI in late 09. I haven’t had one, but I hear they are damn fine. I genuinely miss all of their beers.

Nokian is a cool company. They only make winter tires, and at least in my opinion, they are the best.

I’m impressed that you can spell Canandaigua. I bet you had to look it up though. Hamilton? Are you throwing darts at a map? Pretty positive you can’t pronounce Skaneateles. Don’t feel bad about that one though, no one who isn’t from the area can.

Agreed on all points.

Hey man, it’s not my fault you definitively proved you don’t actually know how Upstate NY’s roadways are laid out, nor the topography of the area. No need to get salty about it.

Lol, believe what you want.

Well, I’ll agree that Rochester is flat; much of the state near Ontario is for obvious reasons. But the Finger Lakes region, or generally south of 90? Well, not so much.

I grew up in the middle of the lake effect machine of Upstate NY. I’m also an avid skier, and therefore was always driving in the worst of weather to various hilly and twisty locales. I lived in Wisconsin as well. Consequently, I’m quite familiar with multifoot snowfalls, hills and lacking municipalities.

Pretty positive all you probably need are some decent snow tires.

The 4runner (any trim, doesn’t matter) will take you to obnoxious locations with the improper tires and no mods.

What sets the 4runner apart isn’t just that it can reach far off places, rather it’s the amount of abuse the platform can take while doing so. That’s true “ruggedness”. It’ll take you out exploring... And
