I think that is exactly it. She can’t say no because he won’t stop if she does. So it is easier to say yes and say it is rough sex. I think this goes back to one of the major themes for me which is our persona that we present to the world and the lies we tell ourselves as well as others about the world.

This is a great point. She was a very secondary character, really more of a stereotype for much of the show. Then in the end it turns out she too had her share of trauma and violence, and it emphasized the message that many women experience violence, no matter their economic class. Plus Bonnie teaches self defense classes. I think that the knowledge and practice of self defense when practiced enough becomes instinctual. That combined with her past trauma would make her go on auto pilot, without intentional thought.

That’s a really good point. It takes a lot of skill to craft a dress that looks good. And a lot of time to maintain it if you can’t just get a new one when it gets worn. I suck at sewing and I definitely appreciate that I don’t need to sew my clothes. Not to mention the time it would take.
