This is where I stand. I am not against AI being used on things but I need to see an advantage to me for it.

if something is going to be made by AI, the cost to me needs to go down and it needs to go down staggeringly. To pick a common example (only because it has a familiar price tag, and not because I think its viable), if a AAA game is going to be made wholly by AI, it needs to cost no more than $15 new. I’m not paying…
Am I wrong for thinking that the RTX off - at least in that video - looks better? I get the desire for better, realistic lighting but RTX on just makes everything look blurry.
Between none of the reporting describing the “prank” and a cursory view of their channel, in addition to their statement that they’ll continue “pranking”, I’m more than inclined to believe that there was no actual “prank” and it was likely just straight up harassment at the minimum.
I mean at multiple points it goes out of his way to show him executing people who had surrendered,
Is it that much different from the game?
Not at all. It was rather clear in the game too that Ellie was not given a choice. The choice had already been made, and that’s what Joel wakes up to. So given that knowledge, and given all they went through, I’m still surprised to see the reactions some are having to the choice Joel made given the situation that he…
A 14 year old suffering from, at a minimum, survivor’s guilt (and probably PTSD and maybe depression) can’t ethically make that choice.
I don’t really understand the anti-Joel aspect that people have (though didn’t play the game):
1) what certainty do we have that the Fireflies would be able to extract ‘the cure’ from Ellie successfully? What certainty do we have that ‘the cure’ would even work as intended if successfully extracted? Yes, Joel…
The fireflies got what they deserved. Joel protected someone close to him. It’s incredibly simple. Sure, Abby might not have liked it, but that is the thing with conflict : There are always two sides with families. You fight for yours.
I havent played the game. I was kind of aware of how it ended before hand.
One interesting thing about the lack of infected is that it presents them as much less of a threat. Yes, they ransacked KC and are threatening Boston but it sure looks like if you’re outside a formerly heavily populated area they’re a non-factor. Every single character we’ve met outside of the QZs are doing fine. Even…
Perhaps, as is the trend of prestige tv these days to have a 10 or less episode count, folks would be more inclined to enjoy these type of episodes if there were more episodes per season. As it is we have 2 episodes that are very much “filler-esque” episodes. Sure, character dev and background was filled in, but story…
I really liked TLOU 2. Ellie being the dumbest human being alive is probably my biggest issue with it
I preferred the game’s version of this line, I feel like it was more powerful. The whole scene is moderately better in game form IMO.
I did not care for TLoU2 and I dread hating the show as much as I hated the game.
Fuck these god awful, canned “fan reactions.” I hate this trend more than gender reveals.
“JRPG” is only a negative term if you dislike JRPGs. Same is true of any label. See the vitriolic response to Suicide Squad being a shooter for a recent example of that.
Yeah. I’m US-ican born in 80 who grew up w/ JRPG only meaning RPG made by a Japanese company and Western RPG meaning ‘rent if you’re desperate’.
Yeah, there seems to be some sort of rewriting history that JRPG was always some sort of slur ?? I’ve never heard anyone use it that way , although seemingly ( nased on these articles) some Internet chuds did in the 2010s , anyone who ever used the term , even decades before said dick wads were born , is now worse…
